It's Clinton, and I can't wake up
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | Sunday, June 27, 2004 | Tom Purcell

Sometimes I think the American nightmare that goes by the name "Clinton" is never going to end.

I knew when he left office, it was only a minor break. I knew they were just getting warmed up. And, boy, was I right. Hillary soon became senator in New York. She's in the news all the time.

And now the book.

We're in the middle of a war and suddenly we're talking about Monica again. It turns out that his original lie about Monica was also a lie. He lied under oath, apparently, which we now know because he contradicted the lie in his memoirs. Does a lie about a lie cancel out the first lie to create some kind of Clinton truth?

Ah, hell, I can't believe we're going through this again.

We're going through all this again cause he had to unburden himself in front of us. Its just as bad if he forced us to watch him take a leak in public. When it comes to washing dirty linen, Bill Clinton is in a class all by himself.

As always, it's all about Clinton. And I think this predisposition will continue to poison the well of the Democrat party for the forseeable future. Ideally, Hillary will get her arse kicked in 2008 and Bill will continue to live a long life, thereby sentencing the RATs to generation of the Clinton albatross.

Willie, here's an irrelevant question for you:

Where is the media comparison of Reagan's decorous departure with Bubba's DNA stained book release?

"And we wake to our own Clinton purgatory every morning. I fear the residue of the Clinton years will never dry. I worry that the sticky, humid cloud that settled over us will never lift. I tremble at the thought that no matter what we do, no matter how much time passes, it will be Clinthog Day every day."

A frightening thought. Clinton apparently has a neurotic need for continual self-affirmation through public media displays. My guess would be the Reagan farewell was too much for him and he jumped on camera to try to steal the show, confused that no one (except grape Kool-Aid liberal zombies)wanted to see him again.

One problem with this scenario. If Kerry gets in, that will not necessarily preclude Hitlery from running for office. We seem to forget that the clintons just have inconvenient people murdered and that takes care of a lot of their problems. If anybody thinks they got where they are legitimately, I've got a bridge to sell you.

The media is the only way the Clintoons can reach the public.

Actually, I think the book stuff and the whole media frenzy was planned before Regan's death. That must of infuriated Bill though to know that a dead conservative got more respect than he did.

Which is why he and Hillary dozed through the service to show their contempt for a man who overshadowed them. How dare he!

I was with this guy--it's a well-written article with a lot of great lines--until he wrote this:

"We must vote for John Kerry."

No, we've got to stay the course, and we'll deal with Hillary in 2008.

Or like Jason from the much maligned Friday 13th series. Perhaps this is more grist for Registered's mill. ;)
