Hell hath no fury like an intern scorned.Monica Lewinsky broke her silence and bared her claws yesterday, branding ex-lover Bill Clinton a creep who "destroyed" her and made her feel like "an insignificant piece of dirt."
As the former President stumped for his best-selling memoir, Lewinsky fumed that he belittled their romance and never apologized for smearing her reputation during the Sexgate scandal.
"He says he was proud of the way that he defended the presidency - at my expense. In the process, he destroyed me," she said.
"I was a young girl and to hear him saying some of the things he was saying today - it's a shame."
Lewinsky said her life would have turned out much differently if she'd never met Clinton.
She imagined that she would be a forensic psychologist, a wife and a mother.
"I have spent the last several years trying so hard to move on. I've lost a lot of time."
Lewinsky, 30, refused to comment to the U.S. media when Clinton's autobiography, "My Life," was published to enormous fanfare this week.
Instead, she gave a paid interview to London's Daily Mail and Britain's ITV News, which aired the half-hour segment last night.
In her most candid remarks since the scandal that rocked the country, Lewinsky portrayed Clinton as a money-grubbing cad incapable of telling the truth.
"It's offensive," she said of his chapters about their fling. "He could easily have chosen to take a few less million dollars and just not write about it."
At various points in the two interviews she referred to him as "the creep," a "liar," a "revisionist of history" and "a wax figure - without humanity."
She seemed unable to reconcile the Bill Clinton of today with the "tender" man who called her "dear" and "baby" and gave her gifts like Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass."
"This is someone I used to be in love with?" she asked incredulously.
While she kept her mouth shut when Sen. Hillary Clinton published her memoir last year, Lewinsky said she's speaking out now to correct the account in "My Life."
She's also angry about the "60 Minutes" interview in which Clinton said he cheated on his wife with Lewinsky "for the worst possible reason - just because I could."
"I was really upset when I first heard it," she said.
"He talked about it as though I had laid it all out there for the taking. I was the buffet, and he just couldn't resist the dessert," she fumed.
"That's not how it was," she said. "This was a mutual relationship, mutual on all levels, right from the way it started and all the way through."
What's more, she claims she can prove it with tapes of messages Clinton left on her telephone answering machine and gifts he gave her, all of which she kept.
"If I was just something he used 'because he could,' why call me?" she said. "Why fake all the emotions and the looks and the tenderness?"
"He touched me first," she added.
Adding to the insult is Clinton's refusal to apologize for the way he and his protectors maligned her at the height of the scandal.
"His strategy was to debase my character," she said.
Clinton doesn't seem to appreciate the fact that she refused to wear a wire and get him on tape, even though she was threatened with prison, she said.
"How would he feel if [Chelsea] was picked up in a shopping mall as I was by the FBI, taken to a hotel room, told she couldn't call an attorney and threatened with jail for 27 years?
"How would he feel if she was trashed by the person she had the relationship with?"
Now that she and Clinton are back on the front pages, she has just one question for him: "Can't you just step up to the plate and correct the things you did that were wrong?"
Clinton's spokeswoman did not return calls.
Pain - in her own words
On Clinton's comments about their affair: "He's acting as though it was nothing more than a bug bite that got infected."
On how he treated her: "He says he was proud of the way that he defended the presidency - at my expense. In the process, he destroyed me."
On his chapter about the affair: "He could easily have chosen to take a few less million dollars and just not write about it."
On her life: "When I look at photographs of me before all this happened, I can see a happiness there that has gone. He could have made it easier on me, but at least I have the advantage of truth."

Alaska and these Eskimos could use matching handbags.
Since Star was such a zealot to "get" Clinton. IMO, Star dropped the ball just like Fiske. They were all too intimidated by Clinton and his followers to do their job. Plus, they didn't have any help from the cowards in the Republican party.
Oh he KNOWS it. It's just that it acts on him like a powerful repellant...sort of like a cross to a vampire.
The mainstream media will touch it..they'll kill..this would be a huge story..tapes of Bill having phone sex with Monica..the ONE saving grace would be that we'd nheard NOTHING about the Peterson or Kobe trials...they'd disappear from the airways..
put me down for $20
Thank you for compassionate comments on Monica, you and a few others on this thread seem to be the only ones able to remember the effect of power, unlimited power, on young people. Even now there are people twice as old as she was at that time who would do the same thing and worse to support people like Clinton, now those are the ones who are disgusting.
This young woman was taken advantage of in the most terrible way and has now come to realize it. We should
have pity and compassion for Monica, it could have happened to almost any young woman with her background and parents.
Isn't it about time for Hitlery's Hit Squad to make a late night visit to flatten some tires and kill Monica's cat?
Good point.
If they would touch it, it'd be like the original story. They'd do it only because it couldn't be ignored so they might as well cash in on it. Of course, we'd like to think that it'd finish him, but given how much his slobbering worshippers enjoy wallowing in mud and feces, it'd probably just improve his stature in their eyes. The rest of us were disgusted by him a long time ago.
Weren't we told that this was ok behavior because it was mutual and none of our business?
Doesn't "because I could" prove he used the office to his own personal benefit and to the detriment of a subordinate that was under him? Isn't that an abuse of power?
If this exact sort of thing isn't what sexual harrassment in the workplace was designed to handle, what is?
And she is realizing that she is joining the ranks of women used and discarded by powerful men. The stupidity of women who get involved with older men simply amazes me.
Well, yeah. But that is much too rational. Nothing is ever rational when it involve RATs.
Don't forget about the entire Democrat Party and the newsentertainmentacademia establishment.
So what is the statue of limitations on hindering prosecution?
Not bad. I also like "Monica's Revenge."
I'm sure Michael Moore is already in negotiations with her to publish these tapes. Working title is probably "Fahrenheidt 69". I'm sure M.M. will be as anxious to publish the "truth" about wee willie as he was to go after President Bush.
Monica has finally grown up....it takes some modicum of maturity to "see". For me this relationship was the most damning on his part, her age and position made it highly innappropriate.
"Intern Abuse: Why What Clinton Did to Me is Illegal, And Why I Should Get All the Money He Made From His Stupid, Boring Book"
Oh, we wouldn't need to listen to them. The real enjoyment for us would be watching the RATs trying to run damage control once the tapes were out.
This Jack Ryan divorce paper dumping could only happen to a Republican. This man Clinton had far worse information out there and it did not matter. What is wrong with the GOP? It is time that all divorce paperwork for all Democrats be released to the press. Let us read about all of the sorry details on all of them.
OMG, just realized I'm talking about a former president of the US.
Wonder if she realizes that all the items related to whether the president was lying under oath were under supoena, and if she with held those tapes?
