The NBC Nightly News' Truth Squad did a review of Michael Moron's Fahrenheit 911.
Here are a few words they used to describe this "documentary"...
Misleading Deceitful
This is not a joke.
NBC was not kind to Moore's movie as they analyzed it to see whether it was factual or not.
I wish the clip or transcript were available. It did my heart good to see a major media outlet lay it on the line for once.
Did anyone else out there see this tonight?
Why did the major media wait until the Friday the movie previews to do a review ? Isn't the answer obvious to you ?
Free advertising to get the curious sheeple into the theatre to find out what all of the hoopla is about !
This kind of high level exposure on the opening night of his big lie is priceless to Moore and you can bet he is in his penthouse apartment thanking his lucky stars to have such loyal friends.
Of course the media had to diss what was an obvious and stinking effort to unseat Bush. They had no choice but the payoff will be THE BUZZ. They learned well from their lesson dealt earlier this year by Mel Gibson. They key to generating interest is to generate as much negative controversy as possible to get the rubberneckers' attention.
BUMP
Does anyone have the transcript of fat mike moore(on) when George Stephanlfolfogous had him on "This Week"?
The only reason I ask was I heard on the radio tonight when Steph. grilled moore(on) about the lies and misconceptions in his piece of trash he (mooreon)admitted "this is just an op-ed piece by me".
Thanks
If you and I can see that, maybe NBC can see it, too, and, while wishing to be able to deliver full approbation to the unpatriotic garbage, even they realize how out of bounds it is and how it could lead to a revisit of McGovern '72.
My goodness. Does this mean his lawyers are going to sue these networks for slander or libel? I understand he had them on standby to take on Bush supporters.
Misleading Deceitful "
I guess we do live in fictitious times when fictitious filmmakers make fictitious films....
Moore is a Nader supporter. The attack him because the more he whips up the anti-war base the more votes Nader gets thus placing Bush in the White House again. The DNC is stuck between a Iraq and a hard place. (sorry for the cheap pun) They are despirit to tear Bush apart but can't do it without taking Kerry down with him. Every variation leaves Bush in office.
I think your example of the Passion proves you to be seeing what you want to see. Most movies don't get reported in the media until opening night, and then only if they are notable. The Passion was highly unusual in getting weeks, even months of media controversy and hype before the release. If the media were pushing and hyping this film more than it deserves, they'd have covered it more and sooner with more controversy to get the Passion effect you speak of.
Yup, right here.
Moore on This Week:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Random House defines "propaganda" as information, rumors, et cetera, deliberately spread widely to help or harm a person, group, movement, et cetera. By that definition, Fahrenheit 911 is propaganda, isn't it?
MOORE: Well, it's an op-ed piece. It's my opinion about the last four years of the Bush administration. And that's what I call it. I'm not trying to pretend that this is some sort of, you know, fair and balanced work of journalism, even though those who use the words "fair and balanced" often aren't that, but
STEPHANOPOULOS: And your goal is to defeat President Bush.
MOORE: I would like to see Mr. Bush removed from the White House.
I HATE the media!
Yes, people like MM, and the certifiable loon Algore are hurting the DNC and Kerry.
Only the far left nut cases are buying their hatefilled rants, and they are alienating just about everyone else.
The Dems who have any sense can see this are trying to distance themselves from both.
Not even a slight chance.
Thats funny, NPR loved it and said it was a "must see".
Allow me my muse!
Anyone else get the feeling that Michael Moore's 15 minutes are almost up!
We never could credit the left with being too quick on the uptake.
"to tear Bush apart but can't do it without taking Kerry down with him. Every variation leaves Bush in office."
Dunno if anyone watches Star Trek "Enterprise", but they recently had a plot line kind of like this, Aliens could see and manipulate future timelines, as the heroes of the show became more and more sucessful at thwarting the aliens evil plot the favorable timelines the aliens could see began to diminish.
It is interesting, If anything this movie will likely push people towards Nader. Ironic.
didn't see NBC but in the documentary MM slams all the networks by using their own words.
