I Just saw the Movoie Fahrenheit 911. Man, was I blown away. I am a lifelong Republican and a solid Bush supporter. Did Mr. Moore ever open my eyes! Who knew Bush was so corrupt and incompetent! Good job, Mr Moore for getting the truth out. I feel like my wisdom has doubled after seeing this great movie. Mr. Kerry, chalk up one new vote.
What an elegant cat! We had a blue point Siamese for many years. She finally "retired" to my grandmother's house, and Grandma enjoyed the loud conversation, as her hearing was going. The cat lived to be 19, and Grandma to 89.
When I was a teenager and still living at home, my parents' Lilac Point liked to go up into the upstairs hall and scream at the top of her lungs, because it echoed so nicely up there (my current cats take turns standing on the curtain wall over the kitchen space, for the same reason).
Anyhow, Southern Bell sent a repair lady out to fix the telephone, and she and my parents' housekeeper were chatting away in the kitchen while she worked on the phone. Meanwhile, the cat was up in the hall doing the Siamese Howl. You have to imagine the Southern accents here -
Southern Bell repair lady: "What'sa matter wid'at baby?"
Housekeeper (in very superior tone): "Dat ain' no baby - dat is de CAT."
The way the Southern Bell lady rolled her eyes and went "ooooooh!" cannot be adequately described. One of the funniest improv comedy bits I have ever seen.
We used to live in a fleabag apartment when we first married, and I am surprised that nobody ever turned us in to DFACS for child abuse . . .
Aaaaaaaaahhhhh, aaaaahh,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
>from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods
Will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying:
Valhalla, I am coming!
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
Aaaaaaaaahhhhh, aaaaahh,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
>from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
How soft your fields so green,
Can whisper tales of gore,
Of how we calmed the tides of war.
We are your overlords.
On we sweep with threshing oar,
Our only goal will be the western shore.
So now youd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day
Despite of all your losing.
