30 Second Letter to the Editor - Write AGAINST the Democrats FRIDAY! (Write For W!)

Please take a few moments to complete this important action item.

The fact is, many people read the "Letters to the Editor" in their local, hometown papers.  Further, these papers are more willing than the major ones to publish conservative points of view.  Thus, by flooding these papers with letters, we can get our viewpoints out to a good chunk of the public.

So, I have a sample letter below with one important story that needs to get out.  Take a look, and, if you have time, compose your own letter.  If not, feel free to use a sample.  Although I strongly discourage seminar letters, there is a good chance that, because of geographic diversity of FReepers, more than one of the same sample will probably not reach the same local paper.

Of course, there are plenty of other topics to write about, e.g. media bias, suppressed WMD info, Kerry hiding his record, etc.  But, at least take the time today to write about something.

There is a quick and easy way to do this.

First, open the "Write for W," easy letter-to-the-editor form HERE.

Before you start, be sure to enter your zipcode in the form provided and select "get info" -- the red button.

Check off all the publication names, and then scroll down to write your letter.  If you have the time, then click "Show All Newspapers" and check off as many boxes as you can.

Here the sample issue:

To The Editor:

John Kerry must do the right thing and return his Senate salary – which he has received illegally – to the U.S. Treasury.

Federal law requires Senators and Congressman to be docked pay for the time they miss from work, just like ordinary Americans.  Senator Kerry knows this, yet he continues to receive and accept his salary in violation of 2 U.S.C. s.39.

Of course, this law applies to all Congressmen and Senators, but Senator Kerry is worthy of special condemnation because he has the absolute worst attendance record in the Senate, and the law does not make an exception for campaign activities.  Further, a Senator running for President should set an example by doing his utmost to obey the law he will, if successful, be sworn to uphold.  Instead, Senator Kerry has opted to disregard the law and, effectively, steal from the very taxpayers he hopes to lead.

If Senator Kerry cannot perform his duties as Senator, he should resign.

Sincerely,

Here's mine, published Sunday:

Liberals don't grasp distinction

The Forum, Published Sunday, June 27, 2004

Stash Hempeck of Hendrum, Minn., asked in his June 21 letter: "Why (beheading) in Saudi Arabia is barbaric, while our laser guided missiles and bombs that dispense death from a distance, often times killing innocent civilians in the process, is not?"

The answer is that the tactical and strategic goals of the actors are different. Islamofascists intend to murder innocents, maximize civilian casualties, establish a theocratic dictatorship, and provide a haven for international terrorists. America intends to kill enemy combatants, minimize civilian casualties, establish liberal democracy, and provide a safe and free country for the good people of Iraq.

I trust that average Americans understand this distinction, even if extreme leftists like Hempeck still fail to see the truth.
