Adversary's Tactics Leave Troops Surprised, Exhausted
Washington Post via Yahoo ^ | Fri, Jun 25, 2004 | Scott Wilson

BAQUBAH, Iraq (news - web sites), June 24 -- The 1st Infantry Division soldiers who walked off the battlefield Thursday, exhausted by the frantic pace of combat and a baking summer sun, had seen nothing like it in their three months here.

In dawn-to-dusk fighting, more than 100 armed insurgents overran neighborhoods and occupied downtown buildings, using techniques that U.S. commanders said resembled those once employed by the Iraqi army. Well-equipped and highly coordinated, the insurgents demonstrated a new level of strength and tactical skill that alarmed the soldiers facing them.

Yep, this sounds like Tet revisited and how the Talibunnies rushed into Afghan cities to throw our guys out.

A lot of Talibunnies got dusted and ended up in Muslim hell with 72 virgin and hungry pigs.

The writer didn't say that the Islamokazis went to pig hell from one bullet.

It could have been two quick and well placed shots like in the link below:

This looks like an Arab version of the Tet Offensive.

Then we need to develop Operation Linebacker III - and not to bring 'em to the peace table, either.

Geez, Ernest, speak your mind and stop being so polite!:)

"The more dead adversaries in the street the more new adversaries are created."

Ernest's very polite response: "Bull Crap....."

Bull Crap..... is exactly right. For two decades we have been fed the bs that we can't win a war against terrorists. Well. we can when we kill them before they do something or when they do it.

At first I thought that, but...they do also resemble some of the tactics used against Israel.

Yea, but snipers don't usually carry machine guns, preferring bolt action instead.

Why bother responding to the troll(s)? Remember, it's Friday afternoon - a tad too early to toke up, so they buzz around here trying to get a little action.

The idea of using more troops has been bandied about for some time.

I think it's finally high time to we insert as many troops as possible between now and the fall and try to crush this rebellion as fast as possible.

Though we may be winning militarily, we are losing the fight at home...and likely in November too.

The Islamofascists know this and that's why they're doing what they're doing. Let's put an end to these damn cretins now!

Still waiting for anyone to tell me how when we leave there won't be total chaos in Iraq followed by the installation of a fundamentalist Islamic government bent on killing us like all of the other fundamentalist Moslem states.

Time will tell. But I think you're selling the Iraqis a little short. Let's give it, say, a year, and see? Or do you think it won't make it that long? My bet is that it will.

I hate to tell you this, but war is politics by other means.

That means that the politicians are always in charge, unless you wish to make the politicians and the generals the same.

If you wish to live in such a country, there are plenty of military dictatorships to choose from around the world.

I know of a couple of former snipers, who can fire two shots with a bolt action about as fast I can with my semi auto 30-06 and with great accuracy.

You are so full of the negative BS: "Though we may be winning militarily, we are losing the fight at home...and likely in November too."

The mediots are winning with the whining losers in life. Not the winners who will vote for GW this fall.

WASHINGTON, June 25 (UPI) -- A new poll of registered voters indicates President George W. Bush leads Sen. John F. Kerry in the critical swing state of Florida by 9 points.

The statewide poll has Bush at 50 percent to Kerry's 41 percent in a head-to-head match-up, with 8 percent going to "other." When liberal independent Ralph Nader is included, he takes 3 percent of the vote while Bush drops to 48 percent and Kerry falls to 40 percent.

A majority of the 750 registered voters sampled, 54 percent, give Bush favorable marks against the 40 percent who view him unfavorably. Opinion on Kerry is evenly split, with 42 percent giving him a favorable rating and 43 percent saying their view is unfavorable.

Didn't work that way in Japan or Germany or the South for that matter.

It's a whole differnet ballgame when your enemy sees his own death as a good thing that will gain him martyrhood and lots of hot young virgins. This isn't WWII and everyone had better learn that soon.

"And staying will create even more problems. Anyone have a working solution to this mess? No one I know in public life or anywhere else seems to know."

You might try stiking your head in the sand, while the adults sort things out.

You have taken the same stance as many of the idiots. You deflected and insulted instead of answering the question. Take heart in the fact that you're not alone. No one seems capable of answering it.

Bull Crap.....

You believe that as we kill people their relatives will like us? If people were killing members of your families you would like them?

I believe that. I believe in the Easter bunny too.

Time will tell but I still believe that when all is said and done fundamentalist Islamic rule will eventually be in charge of Iraq and that that will be a far greater danger to us and world stability than the bastard Saddam.

"It's a whole different ballgame when your enemy sees his own death as a good thing"

So you never heard of bushido or kamikaze?

Don't believe everything you read.

We have nothing to fear but fear itself.
