Moorewatch has a link to a great anti-Moore flyer. Just go to the moorewatch website and scroll down to the section that says "What You Can Do." Get these things out there, nail 'em to the cathedral door!
I'm making a copy!
How to distribute them?
It is showing in a free standing theater in my town. If I stand at the ticket booth and pass them out, how long before the manager orders me off his property?
bump
Stand on the public sidewalk as people walk in.
FYI..............PING
How to get out the truth about Moore Lies!
'Fahrenheit 9/11' Opening Day: $6-8 million?...
Lions Gate corroborated Variety's $6-8 million as more realistic, and they actually think it will be a fight with White Chicks and Dodgeball for #1. Looking at the numbers, I agree with Lions Gate -- Movie City News' $10-12 million estimate seems wacky at this point.
At any rate, it's really TOO EARLY to be talking numbers, even in a $2 million range. In part, because no one knows how tonight's sell-outs are factored into the matinees nor what those 450 other theaters will do (these estimates are based on 400 theaters).
I say it's not cool for Movie City News and Variety to be jumping the gun like this -- even worse than all those news channels calling the winner on election night 2000. Remember this flurry happened during The Passion's opening day, and everyone was way off.
---
By the way, I saw 'Fahrenheit 9/11' on Tuesday night at the LA Film Festival -- I'm not a partisan, but the display on screen and of the audience was ridiculous and kind of creepy -- like being strapped into the Borg but with that Hollywood hipster sheen.
Regardless of politics, I thought 'Fahrenheit 9/11' was a terrible movie. Editing people to look like fools or to look sinister is not difficult to do -- especially when the target is as easy as George W. Bush.
The editing techniques that Michael Moore employ are obvious and simplistic and not effective -- their propagandic purposes are so transparent. Example: Moore intercuts Bush giving war speeches with idyllic shots of children playing in Iraq -- talk about the mother of all cliched edits!
For the most part, Fahrenheit 9/11 is just Moore talking over a bunch of edited footage he didn't shoot himself -- there's very little movie here. Moore's like the P. Diddy of filmmakers. It gets monotonous and is decidedly uncinematic. Maybe if Moore actually was a creative movie DJ, it could have worked.
It's not a news report, so it's fine that Moore's documentary is all one-sided, but he's shallow and he offers no positive alternative. Bush and the Iraq war are definitely open to criticism, and one can make a thoughtful documentary on that -- Moore glosses over everything and then makes conclusions that aren't founded even in the context of the movie.
Because Moore's movie fails to create its own world and is so dependent on the viewer's knowledge of the outside world, it's also perfectly valid to count its lies and distortions against it on an aesthetic level, not just a political one -- Moore is asking for it. Without even factoring them in, though, I'd still give the movie an F.
I'd like to make a movie called 'Celsius 5/21' about the making and marketing of this movie -- the tragic impetus being the day 'Fahrenheit 9/11' won the Palme d'Or at Cannes on May 21... Quentin Tarantino is in bed with the Weinsteins, the Jury beholden to the leftist parties...
There's more reason for conspiracy there than anything in Moore's movie.

Just thought this might add to the discussion.

Thanks...nice link. Seems like the reviews are rather lukewarm for the Commie from hell's movie. Might even restore my faith in America. When the left (newsweek, Time and socialist reviewers are not buying Tubby's crap it gives me a warm feeling.
Well, so far Moore's been "Google-tagged" to number 15 for the word, "Hatriotism."
Anyone else care to change their tagline to match mine below and make Moore number one?
You know what
I never really lost faith in the people of our grand nation they just have been lied to for so long they are confused and scared to beleive anything they cant touch its hard for Americans to trust anything Governmental after so many years of deceit.
I just hope and pray that when its time to vote enough truth about democrats and liberals agendas seeps out that they know that a socialist communist way of life is not righjt for this country and that there is no freedom under a tyrranicle boot !
One topic from your link that I thought was interesting, Drew:
Comment of the Day
A reader named Nancy describes her experience circling around the drain without actually being sucked down into the sewer.
I have a feeling that this may be the experience that many people have. Moore is right when he says that the anti-Bush folks are going to remain anti-Bush, and the pro-Bush folks are going to remain pro-Bush. But his movie is so extreme, so over the top, that the initial anti-Bush euphoria experienced by many centrist or undecided viewers will most likely wear off. Ironically, the movie might end up being less effective than if Moore had made it less of an extreme polemic.I went to see Fahrenheit 911 today. Here is the scenario:
1.) My liberal daughter calls me today from L.A. I tell her Im on the way to see the movie. I assure her that I am not against Bush simply because I am going to see the film. Call me back AFTER you see the movie, Mom.
2.)Before the film starts, a group of seated people talk. One guy interjects that George, Sr. was involved in the Bay of Pigs. I tell the group that I hate Michael Moore because he gave an anti-Bush speech in front of a man who lost two sons at the trade center on 9/11. Moore was jumped behind the stage at the Academy Awards(not common knowledge). But I also tell the group that I am concerned after reading todays movie review of the film that Bush entered the grade school AFTER the first plane hit the WTC and then stayed glued to his seat in the grade school for a full 8 minutes AFTER the second plane hit the WTC. He was reading something about a little goat to the children. Why didnt Bush leave if we were under attack and at war? I am seriously considering not voting for Bush.
3.) I watch the entire movie and I am glued and transfixed throughout and begin to warm to Michael Moore. With his cute, funny Gee shucks all-American harmless approach, you start cheering for Moore. His narration throughout the entire film is funny, personal, home-spun though he isnt in a lot of scenes (he is fat and looks it). I find myself clapping with the crowd and laughing at the mockery of our President and his staff (I organized a pro-Bush rally in Portland last year when he came to town, facing off my 25 supporters to the thousands of anti-Bush haters who burned the American flag in Portland.
4.)The movie is over and everyone applauds (me too). I tell my companion that I am not going to vote for Bush in case all the things in the movie are true.
5.) I call my ultra-conservative Republican friend and tell him that if it is true that Bush was involved in the conspiracy of 9/11 that I was going to be the biggest anti-Bush campaigner on the planet. He pleads with me thru my cell phone that the left is always spewing lies. Its no lie, I tell him. Bush sat in the school while we were being attacked. I never heard this before, he exclaims. Me either, but its true! Do some research, my friend pleads with me.
6.)I meet some people at the park. What did you think of the movie? they ask. Michael Moore is an *%%$#+* and he is full of &*%$. He disrespected our President and baffooned his entire staff. It leads to a respectful debate (I am the only one who wants to respect our President). One of the folks mentions her son, who just trained in Texas and may be heading to Iraq. He cant wait to get out of the United States. He cant stand the people here, the mother replies. Well now dont say anything bad about America, I caution the mother. I love my country. And I support the troops---see all those bumper stickers on my car over there?
7.) The fog of propaganda and brainwashing is beginning to be lifted. I turn to the little group and say O.k. I want to say just one more thing: If were going to talk about Bush being evil, then lets talk about ALL the people who are evil, including those who chop heads off and fly planes into buildings. THEN it is more balanced. The crowd of three seems to concur. We all walk our separate ways.
8.) I call my ultra-conservative friend. He tells me he was so worried about me that he called a mutual friend. He tells me to go onto the anti-Moore websites. Thats how I found this one. I tell him that I was brainwashed for about four hours and then reality set in again. Well for starters, if it was true the Saudis were in on the 9/11 attack with Bush, then why would they be fighting terrorists in their own country now? Other truths start to filter in. I remember who Michael Moore is: A stupid fat white man who has his head up his $%# and is full of &*%$.
9.) I realize Ive been had. And I ponder and fantasize. Would it be possible to have the military NOT protect Michael Moore in a terrorist attack on our soil? I gleefully mull the prospects of Michael Moore going to his death by the very people hes helping to protect (the terrorists who dont exist in his mind). Then this sweeping thought comes in my mind: No, the military would never NOT protect Michael Moore. They would say that it is their job to protect ALL Americans right to free speech and that is what they are fighting for.
Im going to see it tomorrow night, Ill weigh in with my thoughts then.
And here is the link to the Flyer, a PDF file:
Sure I'll try anything once.
I can't get the moorewatch site to come up. Is anyone else having a problem? Also, downloading the movie seems to be a bit complicated (I'm no Al Gore I guess), I could use some help with that....anyone?
Perhaps someone could send me a copy of this flyer?
Just go ahead and have the admin delete this thread and repost when you are ready.
This flyer is good, but....I dont think it does enough to illustrate and debunk the specific untruths in the movie. We need a complete point/counterpoint leaflet. Most people will not take the time to read this flyer, and/or will dismiss it as just conservative propaganda.
