She was great a comedy and had some really good movies. Is she still a christian scientist?

Doris Day and my Great Aunt were good friends, united in animal causes. Glad to see someone with a big heart and common sense.

She shows that you don't have to have s*** for brains to be an animal advocate.
Advises to get more votes by NOT hunting but will vote for and support him anyway.
I respect her choices as long as she doesn't get stupid about it - ala PETA.

I love DD!! She was great in Pillow Talk and all those old movies with Rock Hudson. She is a great comedic actress and a very good dramatic one as well. What was the movie she was in with David Niven? She played his wife and they were living or visiting in London and he was trying to have her killed??

Beautiful then; beautiful, now. . .
What a wonderful person; so glad she received this special tribute. And really glad that she is a Republican!

Doris Day? Wasn't she a 'main squeeze' of Rock Hudson's?

I thought she had already passed away. Obviously not!
What's the deal with the advice about hunting? I don't even think he's done it since becoming President.

Hey Doris - go shove it.
There's nothing wrong with hunting and being an animal lover is not incompatible with hunting. I do both and so do millions of oither people.
So take your dumb advice and shove it.

Doris Kapplehoff. Another 1 of those terrible Germans. ;-)
Actually, I'm shocked. Much as I love her, I thought she was a (recent) leftie. Perhaps I just thought her animal-welfare approaches just too extreme to hope she would generally be conservative. So glad to find I'm wrong, here on FR!

I guess it is a matter of taste.
I always thought her movies were boring with a capital "B"!
I am glad she is voting republican, maybe she is wising up in her old age, but I have heard some pretty liberal tripe come out of her mouth, although right at hand I can't remember what.

Doris Day is nice and all that, however Bush NOT hunting will NOT bring in more votes. If anything those that do NOT hunt ought to be tolerant of those that do. The nonhunters need some education.
Doris is alittle to the left with this leftist advice.

When I was a little kid in the 50s, I was in love with Doris Day.
The first movie I remember which really inspired me was with Ms. Day and our great hero Ronald Reagan.
The Winning Team was a great movie about Hall of Famer Grover Cleveland Alexander and a second chance at life.
