After messing up a major drug bust in New York City, two African American FBI agents (who are also brothers), Marcus and Kevin Copeland (Shawn and Marlon Wayans), try to impress their boss by volunteering to protect the Wilton Sisters, Tiffany (Dudek) and Brittany (Ward), the heiresses of a hotel empire, from a kidnapping scheme during a short trip from JFK to the Hamptons. Deciding to change the strategy drastically, the brothers use themselves as bait, wearing lots of pale makeup and dresses to pass as the Wilton sisters, while the real sisters are hidden away, safe from harm. Now, the agents just have to convince the world (including their coworkers who are now protecting *them* and the Wiltons' friends and family) that they're actually young, rich, white heiresses.
No - it's always OK to criticize, insult, and injure Whites. Rule #1 in politically correct America.
The whole point is that it is politically correct for black people to joke about white people, but racist for a white person to joke about a black person.
"I'm a white chick too..."
Me too. I thought the movie "Some Like It Hot" with Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis (men dressing as women) was so funny. I have no problem with who I am. Maybe that's the whole point. I'm not ashamed of my culture, race or gender. If someone slams Anglo/white/females I just figure it's THEIR problem. I am soooo not into PC any more. PC has caused more social problems and resulted in more harmful legislation than we probably realize.
And I don't at all. I'm entitled to my opinion.
Why are you even keeping score on this issue?
Keeping score? I was pointing out that, in my opinion, In Living Color was allowed by the PC establishment to put skits on TV that no one else would've been allowed to at the time. It was a comment on the establishment not a tally of who had the most irreverent skits. (Your trotting out of an Archie Bunker episode designed to make Archie look like a fool for his narrow views is applicable how?)
Please note that I found In Living Color to be very funny. It's just that skits about blacks in prison misusing words or handicapped superheroes would not have been tolerated on a network show produced by non-blacks at that time. Again the point is about PC double-standards. Apparently you feel differently.
Blacks can do whatever they want with color. Anytime something sounds racist coming from them, substitute the word "black" where they put "white". Sound racist? It's OK, though - for them to do it. NAAWP? Untied White People College Fund? Miss White America? Nope, I wouldn't approve of that either.
Oh, so what happened decades years ago gives them a free ride in making the exact racial stereotypes they protest? I understand now. As long as it's in reverse it's OK. Does turn of the century racism against Irishmen give me the right to make fun of Polacks?
"I'm entitled to my opinion."
Absolutely....you're just not entitled to speak for everyone else.
"Your trotting out of an Archie Bunker episode designed to make Archie look like a fool for his narrow views is applicable how?"
I was simply pointing out the fact that whites have also used stereotypical humor. I used the television show "All in the Family" as an example of this.
"It's just that skits about blacks in prison misusing words or handicapped superheros would not have been tolerated on a network show produced by non-blacks at that time."
Again...."All in the Family" did use stereotypical humor. Also note that "All in the Family" came years before the show "In living color".
I wasn't. I think they have no comedic talent whatsoever.
Again...."All in the Family" did use stereotypical humor. Also note that "All in the Family" came years before the show "In living color".
You've missed my point quite completely.
I have?
"It's just that skits about blacks in prison misusing words or handicapped superhero's would not have been tolerated on a network show produced by non blacks at that time."
i look at is as making fun of the hilton sisters, dont see the attraction there either
Sounds on a par for the FBI.
So was, "Dumb and Dumber", the top grossing movie the year it was out. And very funny, too. I don't try to read too much into slapstick-type comedy. Just sit back, relax and enjoy.
It takes "Trash" to view this kind of "Trash" I guess. What a colossal waste of time and money on your part. May I suggest reading a good book such as the recent biography of Sir Issac Newton, or taking an elderly shut-in to the store, or writing a nice letter to our troops in harm's way!
I think you need to review the manner in which you spend idle time.
There have been a lot of movies like this, like In Living Color, etc. White Chicks is a MOVIE, and it's looks stupid so a person doesn't like it don't go see it. Muchado about nothing IMHO.
Excuse me, but I do not appreciate being called "trash". You do no know me. As for supporting my troops, I DO support them. AND my son will be one of them soon. You judge me on what movies I choose to watch? From THAT you are basing your judgement that I don't support troops, read books or help old ladies? Go crawl back into the hole from whence you came.
Try attacking the people who are attacking our fine young men and women who are serving rather that a fellow freeper based on their choice of movies!
White Chicks is more offensive than this movie http://movieweb.com/movies/film.php?1317
There is no way I would watch this stupid movie. I mute the commercials because these guys really make all humans appear stupid.
