Just got off the phone with my family in Caracas. Biggest fear right now is war with Columbia.
Watch for a U.S backed invasion of Venezuela by Columbian
forces right around the time of, or perhaps immediately after the Aug.15 recall referendum in Venezuela.

funny, the radio said he was "middle eastern" The LA Slimes didn't include that.
A 65-year-old man was arrested at John Wayne Airport on Thursday after trying to board a flight to Washington, D.C., with a handgun and knife in his luggage, officials said.
Authorities did not release his name, saying they did not want to jeopardize the investigation. "If other people are involved," said Orange County Sheriff's Lt. Hayward Miller, "it would be inappropriate to release that information."
Miller said the man was arrested about 1 p.m. after the items were discovered during routine X-ray screening. The United Airlines flight he was trying to board departed on time.
The man was booked into Orange County Jail on suspicion of possessing a firearm in an airport, a felony under federal law.
There are many "tinder box" areas in South America. The Venezuelan/Columbia problem is quite troubling. Another hot spot is the "Tres Frontieres" area (where Brazil, Argentina, and Paraquay meet). It is a known AlQaeda stronghold.
I'm sure you are very worried about your family there.
Are we even going to be able to?
