There are many "tinder box" areas in South America. The Venezuelan/Columbia problem is quite troubling. Another hot spot is the "Tres Frontieres" area (where Brazil, Argentina, and Paraquay meet). It is a known AlQaeda stronghold.

I am. Also, I am about to head off there with the children. F-i-l is a general there, and b-i-l is former minister. Neither are "in" right now with Chavez.
Just like we aren't calling Saudi Arabia a terrorist sponsering nation, the same applies in Venezuela, which, by the way, is the 2nd largest supplier of US oil.
