Shooting in Detroit leaves nine wounded at Freedom Festival fireworks
(Detroit-AP, June 24, 2004, 7:21 a.m.) A gunman opened fire into a crowd that had gathered downtown to watch the International Freedom Festival fireworks display, wounding nine people and forcing hundreds to scatter.
Chief Ella Bully-Cummings said Thursday morning that one of the victims, a 22-year-old man, remained in critical condition at a local hospital with a bullet wound to the heart following the Wednesday night shooting.(snip)

Looks like a quagmire to me.
One of our own here just posted they were worried about this upcoming festival!
Tell it like it should be told my sister!!!
Not enough of the Muslim groups have denounced terrorism though, Vel. I have listened and I am still waiting... It is a disgrace. Even the Taliban decried the 911 hit and Hamas put out a press release against another recent terrorist hit. We know how genuine they are. There are many Islamic lobbying groups within the U.S. -- just for starters, forget about the groups all over the world. Where are these U.S. groups? They are out there protesting the detainment of suspicious jihadi types and the profiling of Muslims (which we do not do enough of, BTW), that's where. They are out there demanding that Muslim women be allowed to skirt our laws by wearing burkas in drivers' license pics. They are not saying we denounce terrorism and want to work with America to stop it.
Sorry, but the U.S. -- as a whole -- hears all the time criticism from the Red Cross, the Vatican, the U.N. and so many others for every move we make. All the while, these same groups let the killing of terrorists groups and the silence of Muslim advocacy groups slide. And, sadly, it goes beyond the U.S. as being above all else and that we should be held to a higher standard at this point. B.S. I don't buy that anymore.
I am sick of it. It is time for good people around the world -- in the world bodies especially -- to start holding the Muslim advocacy groups and the terrorists to higher standards! In fact, aren't the terrorists the ones in need of higher standards?! If the Muslim advocacy groups and the international bodies would start uniting against terrorists instead of slamming America, then maybe we could lick this terrorism problem quicker.

You referred to the Muslim Student Association (MSA)in the last thread. Have you not read about them in Emerson's book American Jihad?
