Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks for Divine Protection that has been upon us these many months. How else to explain, O God, the untold number of opportunities where harm could have befallen us, and it has not. Our water and our food remain clean, our shops are busy, our airplanes continue to fly, our homes are open to hospitality. When we see the evil of the enemy and his unfailing desire to bring us to our knees, surely it is Divine Protection that is upon us, for only You can see everything and be everywhere and filter every event through Your loving hands. Greatly are You to be praised, O God, and we bow before You in thanksgiving.

Yet the enemy is not contained, nor is he rendered harmless. And his fury increases as the day of sovereignty comes upon the Iraqi people. Unite this nation in its efforts to fully partake of liberty and freedom, of commerce and prosperity ... may they be willing to bear the burden, and the cost. Concentrate the efforts, Merciful Father, in revealing the plans of the enemy and preventing harm to the new government ... grant them great success that the people might come and go in peace and safety. Open up the gates to this new nation, that the world might see the tremendous success that has been visited upon them ... put the media to shame for their deceptive portrayal of events. Replace them, O God, with honesty and diligence, that we might delight in all that You have wrought.

Grant success to our defenders, Merciful Father, no matter their appointed post. Expand the networks of intelligence ... increase the means of rescue ... confuse and confound the enemy ... cause him to be careless while we remain vigilant and untiring. We recoil at the utter treason of our countrymen in giving aid to the enemy in words and actions ... thank You, Sovereign God, that they must give an account for every idle word. It is our prayer that not one of our precious sons and daughters would be harmed as a result of their callousness ... we ask that You render them harmless.

By the Power of the Holy Spirit, speak to our hearts that we not be complacent. Guide all branches of our government to be focused and unrelenting in keeping America safe. Thank You for the commitment of our President to the tasks of protecting and safeguarding our countrymen ... as he upholds us, we uphold him before the Throne of Grace ... grant safety and success to his cause, for he acts as guardian of the land that You have given to us. And to this country graced by God, I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
