Did a search..could not find where this was being talked about. Did anyone catch Mikes show today? Well, I did. Parts anyway. Enough to get thrown for a loop.
I was on my way to the doc, driving down the old interstate and turn Mikes show on. They are repeating a Reuter's news flash. We had flattened the city of Fallujah..500,000 dead. He quoted the President as saying that this was in retribution for the last beheading..that he had NO choice.
By now...I am saying prayers for President Bush and our soldiers .. and quite honestly thinking..well, I guess its about time. That being said..this went on for another twenty minutes. I called my mom on the cell phone and asked her if it was on tv. NO! She said..she turned him on..we just could not believe it!!
To make a sick story short...It was the ole Orson Welles trick. I'm sorry...I know he was trying to make a point. And he did. He was getting calls from the audience..he kept stressing that a half a million people..500,000 people had been killed in that city. And guess what? No calls were sobbing or throwing fits...EVERY call was saying its about time!
I know that was the point. He wanted to see how the American people would take the news to a flattening of that city. He found out. BUT...I will be very surprised if this goes without some kind of repercussions. I mean .. quoting "Reuters?"
Just curious if anyone else out there heard this. I gotta say...I was madder than hops when I found out the story was bogus..
Great idea. Careful what blood you wish for on your hands bump.
I'm not sure what you meant by the "blood on your hands" .. I don't wish any blood on anyones hands. I was mad because he pulled such a boner!
Not meaning to speak for others, but I don't think he was referring to you. I didn't take it that way anyhow.
Thanks Bahbah..hope he didn't mean it that way!
500k is a good start!
You weren't the only one driving. I know what Gallagher was trying to do, but I wasn't amused.
MAN! This post made me think!
I think what Mike did was brilliant. Sometimes people don't think about the consequences of their actions until afterwards....
