"It is clear that he is a she-male."

Or a post-menupausal woman. (Just kidding!)

"I blame Milton Berle."

When I saw the headline I immediately thought of Uncle Miltie. Thanks for the great picture, brought back a lot of memories.

And I still remember the Interjections! episode of Schoolhouse Rock that showed a little boy's bare cartoon butt. Horrors!!!!

Schoolhouse Rock - Grammar Rock

Interjections!

Music & Lyrics: Lynn Ahrens
Sung by: Essra Mohawk
Animation: Phil Kimmelman and Associates

}} {Cough!  Cough!  Cough!}

When Reginald was home with flu, (uh huh)
The doctor knew just what to do:
He cured the infection,
With one small injection,
While Reginald uttered some interjections:

}} {Hey!  That smarts!
}}  Ouch!  That hurts!
}}  Yow!  That's not fair, giving a guy a shot down there!}

Interjections        }} {Hey!}
Show excitement,     }} {Yow!}
Or emotion.          }} {Ouch!}
They're generally set apart from a sentence
By an exclamation point,
Or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong. Mmmm...

Though Geraldine played hard to get, (uh huh)
Geraldo knew he'd woo her yet.
He showed his affection,
Despite her objections,
And Geraldine hollered some interjections:

}} {Well!  You've got some nerve!
}} Oh! I've never been so insulted in all my life!
}}  Hey!  You're kinda cute!}

Interjections        }} {Well!}
Show excitement,     }} {Oh!}
Or emotion.          }} {Hey!}
They're generally set apart from a sentence
By an exclamation point,
Or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong.

So when you're happy    }} {Hurray!}
Or sad                  }} {Aw!}
Or frightened           }} {Eeeeeek!}
Or mad                  }} {Rats!}
Or excited              }} {Wow!}
Or glad                 }} {Hey!}
An interjection starts a sentence right!

The game was tied at seven all, (uh huh)
When Franklin found he had the ball.
He made a connection,
In the other direction,
And the crowd starting shouting out interjections:

}} {Aw!  You threw the wrong way!}
}} {Darn!  You just lost the game!}
}} {Hurray!  I'm for the other team!}

Interjections        }} {Aw!}
Show excitement,     }} {Darn!}
Or emotion.          }} {Hurray!}
They're generally set apart from a sentence
By an exclamation point,
Or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong.

So when you're happy    }} {Hurray!}
Or sad                  }} {Aw!}
Or frightened           }} {Eeeeeek!}
Or mad                  }} {Rats!}
Or excited              }} {Wow!}
Or glad                 }} {Hey!}
An interjection starts a sentence right!

Interjections        }} {Hey!}
Show excitement,     }} {Hey!}
Or emotion.          }} {Hey!}
They're generally set apart from a sentence
By an exclamation point
or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong.

Interjections!
Show excitement!
Or emotion!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah... yea!!

}} {Darn, that's the end.}

Thank you for the links. It is true that there is a homosexual "agenda" out there. I have read enough on the subject to be aware of that and I would agree that we as parents must monitor what is provided to our children. Particularly in the schools. However, this particular movie does not further the homosexual agenda, as far as I can see. Obviously, others will differ on the merits of the movie.

This article makes me think of the "boy who cried wolf". If people complain about everything, soon nobody is paying attention to anything they say.

Incidentally, my family is TV free and my children go to a private school where the homosexual agenda is definitely not imposed on them. They are eight and six and still think the "s word" is "stupid".

Schoolhouse Rock is awesome!!! I have the entire collection on DVD. I still have to sing the Preamble to the Constitution to remember it!!!

And my kids are champion skip counters thanks to Math Rock!

I wish that was still on TV.

Informative, but not insidious. These books are promoted as openly homo, ergo, how can one assume it is an agenda? Only those looking for these types of books will purchase them.

I definitely do not agree with the homo lifestyle, but call this what it is, bookstores selling books to homos, not hiding messages in mainstream hetero books.

Cheers!

I thought this movie was harmless. Same for Harry Potter.
Just my $.02.

Allegation: "The movie features a male-to-female transgender (in transition) as an evil bartender."

Actually, the movie says NOTHING about the actual gender of the bartender. She may be a woman with a deep voice and with facial hair. The Traditional Values Coalition should be made aware that such women DO exist.

Allegation: “During a dance scene at the end of the movie, this transgendered man expresses sexual desire for Prince Charming, jumps on him, and both tumble to the floor.”

As stated above, it is actually a woman.

Allegation: “Donkey encourages him to lie about something and suggetsts [sic] he lie about wearing women's underwear. When he denies wearing women's underwear, his nose begins to grow.”

This does happen. But how does it represent a “subtle sexual message”? If anything, the movie indicates that lying about something is wrong. Does the Traditional Values Coalition take a different position?

Allegation: “An earlier scene in the movie features a wolf dressed in grandma's clothing and reading a book when Prince Charming encounters him. Later, one of the characters refers to the wolf's gender confusion.”

True, the wolf assumes a false disguise for immoral purposes. Both Charles Perrault and the Grimm Brothers depict it the same way. But the line in the movie about gender confusion is a joke. Or are jokes not allowed by Traditional Values Coalition?

This article makes me think of the "boy who cried wolf". If people complain about everything, soon nobody is paying attention to anything they say.

That's certainly something to consider. But I think if you were aware of just how many issues there are here, you might think otherwise.

Incidentally, my family is TV free and my children go to a private school where the homosexual agenda is definitely not imposed on them. They are eight and six and still think the "s word" is "stupid".

I have one word for that: fantastic.

For me I don't have the same issues many have with Harry Potter. Gasp!, some might say, but I just don't. I see it along the same lines as Bedknobs and Broomsticks - a harmless movie from 1971. For such things, there's no equivalent, not even close, to GLSEN in the schools. But I try to remain teachable.

Sorry I didn't put that post in it's proper context. It's not whether somebody buys the books for their kids, homosexual or not, it's that public school libraries and public libraries stock the books, and kids read them and check them out. There's no need to push the issues on the 4 to 8-year age group.

I LOVE Bedknobs and Broomsticks!

Thanks for being so rational in this discussion. I noticed things got a little ugly earlier in the thread. Hope to encounter you again!
