The clock ran out on a Friday deadline set by a Saudi Arabian terrorist group calling itself al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula that claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of a U.S. citizen working in the kingdom.

The group, reportedly led by Abdulaziz Muqrin, said it would kill Paul Johnson, an employee of Lockheed Martin Corp., unless the Saudi government released a number of Islamist radicals detained in Saudi jails by Friday.

For a group that wants to overthrow (supposedly) the Saudi monarchy, they sure don't EVER hit any government or royal targets. Odd about that.

"The spice must flow."

Yes, it's the life's blood of the world economy. Imagine the changes that would occur if 1/3 of the Middle East's oil was cut off overnight. We're much more dependent upon imported oil than we were in 1973.

A reply from Saudiembassy.net some time ago with short explanation of some things I said in my missive to it/them.

( I did call them a Family Oil Company with a NATIONAL Flag in my mail to them and I also said the Sabahs were the
same category. Please notice how one could change the subject(s) and you could be arguing with a lib in this country and get essentially the same words for defending, say, homosexuality, or the NAMBLA way of life)

RESPONSE FROM THEM:

"Come now B. Just because we do not have a traditional western style democracy does not mean our citizens do not have a voice in government, or that our leaders are not in touch with the needs of citizens. I don't know why white people insist on the whole world adapting to their system of government - Weren't you the ones criticizing the Taliban for being intolerant of other systems?

There are many systems of government in this world. By and large, they work for the countries which use them. If our citizens are happy with the system we have, who are any outsiders to tell us we have to change? To each his own.

1,000 years behind??? Saudis have rights and privileges people in other countries can only dream of. I don't have time to go into the finer points of our system, I will will ask you not to be so judgmental. Peace out."
