New York's summer social season started not at the Hamptons, but tonight at the Museum of Modern Art with the book party for former President Bill Clinton's memoirs, My Life. Tout le monde came and went to bask in Clinton's afterglow and to pay homage to the only Democrat in the last quarter century to occupy the White House.
While they may say they came to celebrate his presidency, deep inside they know they really came to see the man who brought Monica Lewinsky to her knees in the Oval Office.
Outside the museum, two FReepers (Doctor Raoul and firebrand) stood across the street greeting the celebrants with this reminder: a large sign that said, "IF OSAMA WAS A PIECE OF ASS, CLINTON WOULD HAVE NAILED HIM."
Sixty Minutes fossil Andy Rooney was the first to encounter the Osama sign bearers. He walked over, read the sign and silently walked away.
Clinton apologist Joe Conason said, "He's a horse's ass" about Raoul to a group taking pictures.
The two FReepers got a fair amount of media interest. Most of the local TV news channels filmed and interviewed them. Look for coverage on the 10 or 11 o'clock news, or in the morning.
Raoul and firebrand had a good time bantering with passersby and some of the guests who were leaving the party.
Scarborough Country just showed a still picture of Doctor Raoul holding the sign.

Dr. Raoul!!!You did good. In memory of my brother-in-law of the same name. God Bless you. Did good.
To: RonDog; firebrand; Doctor Raoul
That's very kind of you to say, RonDog, but Firebrand is a Tri-State FReeper; although she has freeped with the DC Chapter, so that makes her an honorary DC Chapter member as well. And Doctor Raoul, well... he can't be fenced in by any one chapter, I don't think. He's a Worldwide FReeper. For sure, photos of the Good Doctor are on computers all over the world; and in some of the darnedest places, too.
Doc, how many states have you freeped in anyway?
To: tgslTakoma
Ooops!
I meant no disrespect to the Tri-State FReepers. :(
Please allow me to modify my previous accolade:
Once again the East Coast FReepers lead the way!I think that I will quit now, while I am ahead. :o)

You do pretty good work yourself, out there on the left coast, RonDog!

It looks like all systems are "Go" for the BUBBAPALOOZA Tour, set to begin with the first official x42 booksigning in the Big Apple on Tuesday.

Thanks for the kind words.
Just arrived back at homeplate. Made all the transit connections right on the money with no layovers.
This one was a VERY, VERY last minute affair. Until I hit the train, I would say I was going because I've had a bad infection and it's taken a lot out of me physically. I had planned to me a friend afterwards and I told them not to count on me and not change their schedule, though they were willing.
Having said that, if this one was fun, tomorrow will be 20 times better because it's in a better spot, a better time and there will be LOTS pf Clintonoids stuck in line that can't avoid the message. So check that other thread and stop by even for a few minutes at lunch and have a blast because it's going to be a million laughs.
I'll add more when I'm rested. In the meantime, it rest that calls.
I asked Conason if taking his Salon stock losses as an IRS deduction counted as a "tax cut for the stupid".

You made
Page Six ... sorta:
"Security at the invitation-only bash was tight, but one protester outside was able to wave a sign criticizing the former president for both his infidelity and his failure to capture Osama bin Laden."

Maybe the "censors"? Nah, the cover Madonna...

How much did the impeached x41 earn last year for running his mouth?
Answer:
According to Forbes magazine $6.3 million as the top earner on the rubber chicken circuit. I don't think FreeRepublic is in danger of giving BJ too much publicity nor is he going away anytime soon.

Dang, I didn't go into FR until this morning. The irony is that we had Scarborough on for a few minutes but turned it off. :(
Nice work, as usual, Doctor and firebrand.
