WASHINGTON, DCU.S. Senator Jon Kyl issued the following statement:
Arizonas economy added more than 8,400 new jobs last month and our unemployment rate has dropped below the national average to 5.1 percent. The facts show Arizonas economy is strong and growing stronger, but John Kerry is traveling the nation on his pessimism and misery tour and talking about the Great Depression. Kerry voted against the Presidents historic tax relief that is helping fuel Arizonas economic recovery and his cynical rhetoric talking down our economy isnt going to create any new jobs.
When President Bush signed the Healthy Forests legislation to help prevent fires that can devastate states like Arizona, John Kerry compared it to taking a chainsaw to our public forests. Now that Kerry is visiting the West this week, he says he supports a lot of the Healthy Forests initiative and wants a strong logging industry. It will be difficult for Arizonans to decide which John Kerry to believe.
Kerrys changing position on Healthy Forests comes in the wake of him shifting with the political winds on other important issues. Kerry voted for sending our troops to war in Iraq and then voted against $87 billion in funding for essential gear like body armor after previously saying that opposing the funding would be irresponsible. Kerry is attacking the Patriot Act and the No Child Left Behind Act despite voting for both of them, and he cant even decide whether his SUV belongs to him or his family. Arizona needs a strong and decisive leader, not someone who bases his views on politics and changes them depending on his audience.
OMYGOSH,
Talking about hitting a nail on the head, Errrr.......maybe nailing a flipper to a board, I dunno, but Senator Kyl has my appreciation.
Blessings, Bobo
Actually, Senator Kyl is the only one we have.
The other is too busy playing politics on the national stage.
