Responding to criticism that he didn't do enough to combat terror during his presidency, Bill Clinton spends much of the second half of his book detailing his efforts to capture or kill Osama bin Laden and other terrorists around the globe.
In the days after 9/11, Clinton was widely criticized for allowing al Qaeda to grow into a worldwide destructive force during his eight years in office a claim the former commander in chief vehemently denies in "My Life."
"Since we had been going after his organization for several years, I had known for some time that he was a formidable adversary," Clinton writes after mentioning dual car bombings of the American embassies in Tanzania and Kenya that killed 257 people.

How about Carl Bernstein, he comes out with a book on Bush and completely passes over Clinton. This is the guy who wrote All the Presidents men, had a movie made about the book, and here you had Clinton who made Nixon look like a baby burp. It`s just unbelievable the passes this guy gets. Where are the stories about Larry Lawrence, the guy who gave Clintoon cash and was buried in Arlington cemetary even though he never served a day in the military? Everyone seems to forget when he was dug up. I mean you could write a book on all the crap that guy did that was completely brushed under the rug. Wayne Dumont, the guy who was castrated after he was accused of raping Clintoons niece, something it was proven he never did, yet Clintoon still refused to pardon him. Pretty curious that a rapist would dictate punishment to another man who never raped. Juanita Brodderick, another one completely ignored. How he regularly disgraced the oval office by appearing in gym shorts. Ignored , ignored. THe 100+ people in the Clintoon circle who died under mysterious circumstances, ignored ignored.
And lets not forget the time they could have gotten OBL but Clinton was talking to people on the golf course and wouldn't be interrupted.
I love this title, you have such a great vocabulary.
Glad you liked it.
Hah.....fat chance.
Liberals have Selective Memory Syndrome. They remember only the things that advance their political agenda.
Clinton's memoirs...........chapter by chapter.
After that scathing NYTimes book review, it seems the media (except for Viacom/Rather, who still have a vested financial interest in the Clintons) may finally have had their fill of Bill.
Bill is a has been; he hasn't done anything significant since leaving the Presidency. Maybe the media are trying to move on. Bill doesn't command center stage any more.
Is their nobody but "choir members" reading this? That's no fun! Come on, defend the great Clinton! Anyway, it is obvious Clinton did not have the political courage that was needed to participate in the ongoing war that Osama bin Laden had very publicly declared against the United States and the west 5 times during his Presidency. He was and is low life scum.
Yeah, but the Sinkmeister had other presidential priorities - Oh, some been laid-en. But in another thread, maybe he was more honest (Bill: Bush went to war too fast).
If Bush had done it Bill's way, he would have delayed until it was somebody else's problem. The Clinton motto: "Skate on the previous administration's hard work, then shove all problems under the next administration's rug."
It's the perfect cover story.....If Bush calls him a liar, Clinton can just say, "See he wasn't even listening..."

Here is the audio of the sinkmiester telling us he didn't want Bin Laden.
And if Bush ignores it, it gives Clinton's story credence.
I can think of several reasons. The first is that he was too chickensh*t to do anything.
Or maybe he didn't actually have a problem with OBL.
But when you have a married man who can't keep his pants up, I always see a person wide open for blackmail.
Think about all of the women we do know Clinton had "relations" with and think about how much effort he went through to keep them a secret. Do you for one second imagine that there aren't many, many more we don't know about?
The question is, what did he have to do or not do to keep the evidence out of the hands of the "VRWC"?
And...it isn't just adultery that Clinton has been accused of. If half of the rumors are true, there are plenty more things for him to keep secret. So much potential for blackmail with just one borderline personality disordered president.
No wonder he got re-elected. He's a gold mine, a puppet on the string of his own lack of character and emotional intelligence to any puppet master with the right dirt.
Well said.
And tho I do not remember this encounter of billy klinton with the women on the street after 9/11, I DO remember that sick sociopath making a speech after 9/11 at Georgetown University where he basically BLAMED the US for the attack. Had I been there, I would have raised one huge raucous verbal battle with that blob of nothingness.
Liz has it nailed so beautifully-he really is on his ' perpetual exoneration tour ', and it is going to seem like forever before this man fades into the dustbin of truly morally corrupt, failed American Presidents.
Klinton is like that stuff I wiped off my shoe, only he smells worse.
Not really. The klintons and their dirty tribe consisting of such dirtbags as podesta, carville, lewis, davis, magaziner, attns. craig and kendall, lindsey, senators harkin, durbin, leahy, kennedy, levin, moveon.org (you remember-it started with norman lear and ann lewis, who was working for klintons at the WH during the Monica boinking period, and all wanted to move from Monica, lol), michael moore, al franken, starlets with no brains, etc., have tried mightily to bait President Bush and his team.
Like children do.
That it does not work, that they twist and lie and attempt to enrage and distort continuously with no response from the leadership of this nation DRIVES THEM NUTS.
They figure EVERYONE is like they are.
They are wrong.
And the contrast elevates President Bush even as it exposes these yellow bellied, morally corrupt filthly people who all have risen to positions demanding character none of them can claim.
ROFL ;^D
Bump!
