Containers packed with the deadly poison ricin may have been brought to Britain, according to a newspaper report.
The Observer said French police had told their British counterparts that the chemical had been manufactured by an Islamic militant.
French investigators have been trying to track down dozens of containers of ricin suspected to have been made in a makeshift laboratory in Lyon by Menad Benchellali.
Benchellali was arrested during police raids 18 months ago.
The ricin, which can kill in hours if inhaled, injected or ingested, is believed to have been stored in the form of a white powder in jars of face cream, the Observer said.
French sources said samples of the ricin that Benchellali allegedly produced had been found in Britain.
The paper said several jars were unaccounted for.
A British police spokesman declined to comment on the report.
French investigators said in January 2004 that Benchellali had undergone training in a guerrilla camp in Georgia's Pankisi Gorge.
The region was once used by guerrillas fighting government forces in the neighbouring breakaway Russian province of Chechnya.
Benchellali and eight others are suspected to have been preparing chemical weapons attacks on Russian targets in France.
God Bless the UK...methinks their 9-11 is around the bend.
Didn't they find ricin in a train locker in France a while back?
I think that turned out to be Brie.......
Ah yes the French our trusted friends and allies ....while we clean out the nest of vermin in the mIddle East how about one last trip to the continent too? What a useless bunch of sorry people live in France

Someone posted a comment the other day that Ireland was teeming with Pakistanis and other Muslims. Migration is taking place in Europe, with, one suspects, cultural clashes and demands for burkas and minarets not far behind. Then bombings, etc.. Presumably the IRA and Northern Irish will react in kind.
