"BRITISH actress Vanessa Redgrave, who campaigns for prisoners at the US detention centre in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, today denounced alleged torture at the jail and demanded the repatriation of the inmates.
Ms. Redgrave was speaking in the town of Venissieux, France, home to two of the prisoners held at the centre.
"The health and detention conditions at the Guantanamo base are a genuine reason for urgency," she said in French after meeting relatives of the detainees, Mourad Benchelalli and Nizar Sassi..."

Sad that movie producers can't find someone else.
She's a lost one, that's for sure.
It appears French has become the universal language for backstabbers, liars, Leftists, surrender monkeys and Democrats....
Appropriate!
Semper Fi
She is a great actress whose destiny placed her center stage in front of the footlights from birth. Such a gift combined with so poor an ability to reason is very sad.
Sadly, that is true. Maybe it's the wine.
Fame must strip away for some the ability to think, or rob them of their conscience, that's for sure.
Le Attitude.
Is that ALL she's done? I thought she was an "actress"?
Vanessa Redgrave can KISS MY ROYAL IRISH ASH.
Sickening isn't it?
Another socialist pipes up. What was the title to that book? "SHUT UP AND SING!"
"Vanessa Redgrave has incredibly bad timing or has completely lost her marbles."
Actually she is being consistent. In the 70's she did this:
In addition to starring in Julia, Redgrave also funded a documentary entitled The Palestinian in which she backed a Palestinian homeland and, more controversially, danced with an Kalashnikov rifle.
And for an encore:
Redgrave was an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam War, an IRA sympathizer and a very vocal supporter of the PLO under Yasser Arafat and was reprimanded for making a political statement during the 1978 Academy Awards ceremony.
What a babe
best regards,
the dozer
Thanks for the reminder of her sordid history. What's remarkable is that she has not been subject to a well deserved blacklisting. She keeps getting hired.
LOL, yep, well not sing, please don't let her sing, maybe she could just act and rest her vocal cords between jobs.
I agree with you, at least when she was in her prime. The sensitivity with which she played her roles were/are belied by her hateful and strange politics. But I liked her well enough to see a number of her films anyway. Something I did not do with Hanoi Jane. Anti-semite or not, in recent years she played a Jewish concentration camp victim with her usual competence.
