Laura Bush vs. Teresa Hienz Kerry Election 2004 Cookie Cook-off (Bush wins in a landslide)
Family Circle ^
Posted on 06/18/2004 9:34:39 PM PDT by rocklobster11
Laura Bush submits a recipe for Oatmeal Chocolate Chunk Cookies. What's not to love about that?
Teresa Kerry submits some whacked out thing called Pumpkin Spice Cookies. I wouldn't try feeding those to my dog. That is, if I had a dog.
Supposedly this poll has been an "accurate" predictor of the last three elections, so get out the vote.

Okay Pumpkin Spice is disgusting. Dunkin Donuts does a version every year for Halloween and you would think they couldn't mess you a donut, but it's truly horrible.

Even without the pumpkin, Laura wins on the choice of fruit too: Dried Sour Cherries vs. Raisins, I'm voting for cherries every time.

God made pumpkins for Jack-o-Lanterns and pies.

Actually, although I voted for the Laura Bush recipe, I make the pumpkin one for my feller all the time. It's one of our favorites, and it is very good. VERY good.

I despise the whole "spiced" cookie thing. Nutmeg, ginger and other wierd crap is meant for cooking usually for meat dishes. Not cookies in my opinion.
Though if Mrs.Bush had opted for them I'd probably keep my yapper shut.;)

Oh yes! I forgot those!!! How silly!

I can just see the cats and dogs sniffing these pumpkin cookies then looking up at me real angry. They would probably try to run away from home at the first sign of a door opening. What a cruel thing to do, force pumpkin cookies on anyone let alone a whole nation!! Just terrible!

Well, of course! Why would we ever snipe at such a gracious lady as The First Lady. But she'd never do that...she's a teacher.

I actually had a Pumpkin Pie shake one time. It looked horrid, but it was delicious.
Don't hate the pumpkin. Hate the baker.

Of course, I voted for Laura's recipe. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas my children request my (Dad's) pumpkin pies.
Make 6 for each holiday. My children claim that Dad makes a mean pumpkin pie, for which I will take their word for it, since I just make them and never eat the damn things. lol

And who doesn't love a chocolate chip cookie--of various varieties. Personally, I love 'em with macadamea nuts!

I doubt if Heinz could even find a stove and if she did probably would not know how to turn the oven on -- as for mixing up cookies -- no way is that arrogant woman going to mix up a batch of cookies and then bake them. If she did, bet they wouldn't be fit to eat.
Unbelieveable -- first Hillary and now Heinz -- bet they couldn't bake their cookies if they had to -- it would be a disaster.
Can you imagine calling Heinz as a Room Mother for her kids and asking her to bake cookies? That would be funny!
