May FEC Report Indicates $63 Million Cash On Hand
Arlington, VA - Grassroots support for Bush-Cheney '04 continues to grow with contributions from more than one million donors representing every county in every state in this nation.
President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Mrs. Laura Bush and Mrs. Lynne Cheney are vigorously campaigning across the country to raise money for Republican Party committees and Republican candidates.
"Two months after the President's last Bush-Cheney '04 fundraiser, we continue to receive support from hundreds of thousands of voters throughout the country," said Bush-Cheney '04 Campaign Manager Ken Mehlman. "We are using that support to share President Bush's positive message and build the largest grassroots campaign in history."
In May, the President's re-election campaign received contributions from 224,380 supporters who gave a total of $13.26 million. The average contribution in May was $60. Through May 31, 2004, Bush-Cheney '04 raised more than $213.4 million from 1,070,379 contributors. Bush-Cheney '04, Inc. filed its May report with the Federal Election Commission today.
Bush-Cheney '04 has set the standard for campaign finance disclosure. Each week the campaign updates its Web site at www.GeorgeWBush.com/Donors/ with the names of individuals who have contributed to the President's campaign. This disclosure is not required by law for those who have contributed less than $200. The Web site also lists volunteer fundraisers who have reached Maverick, Pioneer and Ranger status.
63 Million - Why that's a lot of Catchup Teressa will have to sell for her frenchie boy to match.
This is good news. It's going to take all we can muster to compete with the likes of George Soros and Michael Moore and his crappy movie: "Fahrenheit 9ll". However, the last accout I had only 417 theatres had agreed to show the movie. I also take comfort in the fact that the only people who will go see it are the ultra-liberal left wingers who won't vote for The Prez anyhow.
I'm glad that the B/C '04 camp is using the money for their grass roots efforts. The key to winning this election is going to be getting out the vote. (Plus The Prez having a good showing in the debates.) Am I right or wrong.
Have you sent your check today? I have no less than four separate solicitations on my desk!
Question to those who understand the campaign finance laws better than I.
I want to contribute (again). Is it better to hold off until after the convention when the President accepts the nomination. Or doesn't it matter?
Thanks!
Evidently the Republican Party is the "party of the people" and the democrat party is the party of fat cat socialists.
Of course in the 2000 election my wife and I did donate to Bush after the election to help with the legal battle against the marxist crud who tried to disenfranchise soldiers so perhaps keep a few backs in reserve. :-}
I am a poor postgrad who basically lives in a closet and I just gave $50 to the Bush/Cheney campaign after getting a 'personal' email request from the President. In light of this ridiculous media coverage of the Iraq-Al Qaeda links and the nature of this request I felt I had to contribute. I am starting to realize just how important this election is. I am glad to see this story, cuz that must mean others are doing the same!
Can they spend what's collected after the convention?
(Thanks)
Nope.
Very good!
Just think, if you don't buy Dixie Twits CDs, Michael Moore CDs, go to movies that star Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon..., buy Clinton books, etc., then you have more money to contribute to Dubya.
He needs our help and dollars to defeat the RAT scum. Our lives DO depend on it.
Check (with stamp) is in the mail....thank you, I had it exactly backwards ;-)
Monday is my day to send $$$$$ to Bush/Cheney !!!!!!
I just went to http://www.georgewbush.com and clicked on the Donate button and sent him another $54.00.
Click on the Donor Information button and you can search to see who's donated. I saw that my 77 year-old mother sent in $10.00... good for her!
We are a good and faithful team! ;^D
Made my online donation of $50.00 today.
i made mine in february. I'm a poor college student but I had $50 I could spare for something as important as this :). My mom also just last week donated to Bush. It was her first donation to any political organization.
I was actually torn between giving directly to Bush or the Clubforgrowth.com
I would have loved my money to go to pay for that GREAT hard hitting Reagan Bush comparison commercial. You could only see it for a day, but they took it down in deference to the Reagan family. It will be back up next week.
Yea, I think the partisan media and the dems are really misunderestimating the extent of grass roots support that Bush has. I just want to make sure all of us at least equal Soros and all these Rich dems [that were for campaign finance reform!] contribute.
Congratulations on investing in your future! I'm a single mom, and have done the same thing.
If anyone is maxed out politically, but still wants to help, go to www.kerrylied.com and donate a few bucks to the vets who're planning the rally on Sept. 12. They're not fundraisers, but they are immeasurably heartfelt in their opposition to Kerry and determined to get their story out about him. They really need the help. They're a legit non-profit corporation and all money is going for this huge rally on Sept. 12 on the west steps of the capitol in D.C.
If you cannot donate, can you spread the word among distro lists? Or get folks there? Or come yourselves? These guys, Vietnam Veterans for the Truth, along with the Swift Boat Association, need our support.
