BANGKOK, May 29 (AFP) - Assailants decapitated an elderly Buddhist in Thailand's Muslim south Saturday and vowed more such killings if Muslims continued to be arrested for the months-long unrest in the region, police said.
It was the first decapitation in the violence, which has claimed some 190 lives since January, police said.
Sieng Patkaoe, 63, was attacked by men with machetes early Saturday as he tapped rubber trees on his plantation in the southern province of Narathiwat, district police said.
Sieng's severed head was left along a village road. His body, found some 60 metres (yards) away, had a note pinned to it threatening more killings, police said.
"If innocent Malayu (the predominant ethnic group in the Muslim south) continue to be arrested, we will murder more Buddhists," police quoted the note as saying. It was written in Thai and printed by computer, they said.
The victim had no conflict with neighbours, police said.
The killing marks a new level of brutality in the violence, mainly blamed on Muslim separatists, that has plagued southern Thailand this year.

Can you imagine the outcry from our own home-grown seditionists (the Leftist media, Hollyweird, etc. - heck, even Little Ronnie Reagan) if a modern-day general would issue such orders? Sometimes I almost wish the anthrax attacker had succeeded in infecting Tom, Peter, Dan, Leahy and Daschle. (Meant largely with tongue in cheek, although I'd be lying if I didn't say a small, dark part of me means it.)
ONCE AGAIN, the ugly face of Islam has been exposed to the world.
Not only are Christians and Jews targets of their insanity, but Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, Zoroastrians, animists, in short ANYONE who is not Islamic.
And being Islamic alone is not enough as recent news and past history has shown.
When the Wahhabists took over already Islamic Saudi Arabia in the 1800's with their most virulent and intolerant beliefs, they massacred MILLIONS of non-Wahhabist Muslims, including Sufis.
In Algeria we have seen entire villages of Muslims wiped out by other Muslims. In southern Sudan, there was a recent posting of Arabic Muslims attacking and destroying black Muslims and eliminating their entire villages.
Unless and if a sizable number of Muslims rise up and put an end to this nonesense themselves, the entire world will grow weary of this behavior and unite to totally destroy this belief system and those who insist on practising it.
This Buddhist beheading is clearly the fault of G. Bush and his policies.
There you go. This crime should serve as a wake-up call to those in our country who argue that Islamic terrorist acts against America are our own fault, because we "meddled" in Middle Eastern affairs, because we "provoked" the Arabs, because we support Israel, blah, blah, blah.

The spokesman who gave the press conference at the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington about an hour ago seemed truly shaken to his core. But that's not enough. As you say, a sizable number of Muslims must rise up.
For muslisms it is a war on all that is not muslim--for liberals in the USA it is a holy-war on Christians, thus the demoncRATs are not unsympathetic to the Islamofascists.
