ASTANA, Kazakhstan (AP) - Russia gave the Bush administration intelligence that suggested Saddam Hussein's regime was preparing attacks against the United States and its interests abroad before the Iraq war, President Vladimir Putin said Friday.
Putin said he couldn't comment on how critical the Russians' information was in U.S. decision to invade Iraq. However, he said the intelligence didn't cause Russia to waver from its firm opposition to the war.
"Indeed, after Sept. 11, 2001, and before the start of the military operation in Iraq, the Russian special services ... received information that officials from Saddam's regime were preparing terrorist attacks in the United States and outside it against the U.S. military and other interests," Putin said.
"Despite that information about terrorist attacks being prepared by Saddam's regime, Russia's position on Iraq remains unchanged," Putin said.
Putin said Russia didn't have any information that Saddam's regime had actually been behind any terrorist acts.
Suggest to them that slitting their wrists will make the pain go away and then start whistling the theme from M*A*S*H.
So, it was news for an hour, at least to the libs.
That's a great photo, I don't think I've ever seen it. If it's real you should send it to the Club for Growth, they might use it in an ad. That would be too Kewl. LOL
I saw one that blatantly said, "Bush insists Saddam-Al Quaeda Conspired" suggesting that they planned Sept 11 together.
Others say things like, "Bush contradicts Sept 11 panel".
Well, if anyone is paying attention, I watched interviews on 3 stations yesterday with members of that panel. They TOO came to the conclusion that there were Al Quaeda-Iraq connections. There were repeated meetings and evidence of it, although no evidence saying Iraq planned 9-11.
Every single interview I watched said the same thing, and did NOT dispute the President. In fact, they blatantly said they didn't dispute that there were connections.
Now, there were some "other" connections. Yes. 9-11 panel says so too. As does the President. Then Russia just says they were planning attacks on America. Now what?
Of course the nat'l press acts as if he was born yesterday, never confronting him with his own words.
Did you know he was in Viet Nam?
"Now, what the dems & media like NY Slimes are going to say about this?"
After today...Not A Word. If it doesn't hurt the administration, its apparently not worth reporting.
I feel a HUGE backlash against the Media building today.
This is a great find.
Crushkerry/JM, I'm sure that your creative minds will find some effective way to these words from the mouth of al Querry.
Do you think that the Democrats will DEMAND THE MEMO by subpoena about any information the Russians gave W following 9/11 to see how we reacted to it and connected dots to prevent another such attack? Maybe Pubs on the comittee should.
LOL! Great snarky post! ;^)

Isn't this is what he is saying?
"Nice catch, Grampa. And G'morning to you, too, my friend. Btw, where's that cartoon you used to post of Dems trying to commit suicide? ;-)"
It is no longer available from the source. I think that Meekonegop saved it.
Maybe he can recycle to show them jumping off the ledges of buildings after they get caught in this latest series of lies.
That's a safe bet.
can you imagine the calls to Carville, Rather, NYT, etc. with conference calls in the Kerry War Room?
"Bush invaded Iraq after hearing that it was planning attacks on us - AFTER 9/11, for chrisakes!" Carville might be heard to say. How the H311 can we spin that into a bad thing, you Bozos.
hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe!
Lol... yeah... Kerry is obviously hoping the story goes away without having to comment on it. Or he's waiting for Rather and Brokaw to come up with a good angle to attack it and then he'll fall in line.
