Rush Says 9/11 Commission Member DID Find Iraq/AQ Connections
June 16, 2004 | Vanity

Posted on 06/17/2004 9:13:56 AM PDT by Peach

Rush just said that one of the 9/11 Commission Hearing members has written the media complaining that they have taken ONE line out of context.

They HAVE found Iraq/AQ connections, but haven't found that Iraq was involved in 9/11. Even though they were't charged WITH even looking at that.

And Bush has never claimed that Iraq was behind 9/11.

Oh, and Gorelick also said that the Bush admin had taken the opportunity available to them to counter facts the commission had with them on various issues with other facts. She said, they didn't do so on this issue.

I'm assuming that means they didn't back away from what they KNOW to be true. That gives me hope they will come out with all the FACTS sometime...soon I hope.

As the lies of the press seep into the American psyche, it damages us, our morale and most especially the morale of the troops.

I'm watching and I rarely, if ever, watch O'Reilly.

Cheney gave a great interview and the interviewer says they have never seen him so upset. Cheney ticked at the NYT and how they have mis-portrayed the 9/11 Commission comments.

I have also determined that the use of armed force against Iraq is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

And where in there does it say that Iraq committed 9/11? I think it's artfully worded, especially considering that Iraq did at that time and previously support terrorism, including Al Qaeda who was directly responsible for 9/11.

Bush: Iraq Linked With Al Qaeda

Thursday, June 17, 2004

WASHINGTON — President Bush repeated his assertions Thursday that Saddam Hussein (search) and Al Qaeda (search) had a relationship before the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

The president added that he did not infer that the two had a "collaborative relationship" on the attacks, a conclusion rejected by the commission investigating the intelligence failures that prevented the United States from warding off the attacks.

"There was a relationship between Iraq and Al Qaeda," Bush insisted to reporters following a meeting with his Cabinet at the White House.

Click to read the Sept. 11 Commission's report (pdf).

"This administration never said that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated between Saddam and Al Qaeda," he said.

I did not read through all your cites. Just for the record, there is one more instance of "credible evidence" of collaboration, that speaks for itself, nobody has mentioned in this thread yet.

Lest we forget... Ramzi Yousef is considered to be an Iraqi agent. He also participated in the first Trade Center Bombing and in Project Bojinka (Sp?), a foiled plot which was to have destroyed 12 large airliners over the Pacific at the same time. He is the nephew of Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the 9/11 Mastermind, who is al Qaida.

Thus, we have a link between Iraq and al Qaida, World Trade Center Bombings I and II, bombs and airplanes and a whole lot of other stuff in these two guys.

That's why the phrase "the arm that is already hurting" is so appropriate. Sadaam hurt it.

Res ipsa Loquitur? (The thing speaks for itself)

The book The New Jackals dealt with Ramzi Yousef and OBL.

It was one of the best books I've read on terrorism and the FBI said Yousef was the most experienced bomb maker they have ever dealt with.

When asked yesterday by the press why the president feels that AQ and Iraq had a relationship, he gave a ONE word answer. Zarkawai (sp?). He could have, and should have given a history lesson.

I didn't read this post until just now. That is not true, Peach. He did give more than that answer. I posted the entire thing on one thread, but cut and pasted just the one word answer on another--along with the link to the source where it would be plain he said much much more.

I have to say I completely disagree about losing vigor, and am shocked that such a charge would be made especially this week when Cheney and Bush have been on fire.

This has been a better week. Lots of us have been grumbling that the president hasn't defended himself forcefully enough on many occasions over the last year.

I missed the press conference but thought his answer was only one word. I'm ever so glad to hear it was a longer, more thorough answer. He needs to teach and explain and give historical back-up.

I was not surprised to see that the last vestige of reasoning for the death and wounding of 5000 American military was put to bed today with the conclusion of the 911 commission that what we feared was true--no connection with Al queda or the attack on our country. We had hung on this hope when no wmd were found. Iraq was in deed a scapegoat. While Bin Laden strengthened his forces, we fiddled with Sadaam. Now we don't even have enough evidence to convict him of criminal trespass and Iraq is a quagmire undeniably, a quagmire.
What a blunder and squandering of our conservative agenda. And our borders remain open to millions of worthless noncontributing aliens infiltrated with very dangerous terrorists threatening you and your children. Bad job Bush. Real bad.

I hate to break it to you, but you are insane.

I'm so sorry.
