Paragraphs are your friend. I would never vote for an atheist. They SHOULD be outsiders because they have no moral foundation.

Sorry, first try with the "autoexcerpt" function, and posted in a hurry. Thanks admin moderator!

As opposed to a "moral foundation" based on the belief that death isn't really death, but a passageway to an afterlife? That there's some mysterious angels floating around in the ether that are looking out for you?

athiests arent by definition immoral. if you have your own moral code it may well happen to be very similar to, say, a christian one.

If you think so, then you don't understand atheists at all.

"They SHOULD be outsiders because they have no moral foundation."

I take exception to this statement. Many atheists can and do have a firm moral foundation based on classical western European ethics and mores. Mr. Newdow and the cretinous crowd that loudly proclaim their atheism along with their contempt for anything supernuminal just have incredibly bad manners.

I put them in the same category as a newly converted, and therefore unsure of all his biblical facts, fundamentalist who responds to difficult questions by praying all the louder and shouting that the devil is asking those questions.

If an atheist is absolutely convinced there is no God, why then does he care if those poor deluded fools around him believe in God. If anything, he should rejoice that all those folks who aren't as smart as him have a ready made system of morals to keep them from pounding his annoying self.

Sigh. For your information, my Dad was one of the most moral men I have ever known on this planet, and lived it every day of his life. He was and is my inspiration for bringing out the better angels of my nature. When I am tempted to cut corners, I ask myself what my Dad would think about it, and then just say no. He was an atheist. I am not as good or moral as he was, but then I am only a near atheist.

Broad brush strokes in this case, make for a very bad paint job.

Oh, by the way, I consider myself rather an "insider" rather than an "outsider." LOL.

I'm an American, period. I'm not an outsider in my own country who I've defended in uniform, period. End of discussion.
