A bunch of us made note of this comment and what it ment on the live thread for the funeral and got poo poohed for thinking that Jr. was taking a potshot at W during his Eulogy. Glad to know I wasn't wrong.

Ron Reagan, Jr.: Bush-Hater?

George Bush, Jr.: President

Ron Reagan, Jr.: TV personality on a third-rate cable news network

A complete cheap shot by Ron Jr. Bush never said anything about ballet dancers in his eulogy. I think Ron Jr. still hasn't gotten over his loathing of Anita Bryant.

If people really took Ron Reagan serious wouldn't he be more than a silly announcer for dog shows on Animal Planet? And he's not even top dog doing that lol

I mean, really!

How could they have forgotten this article and the things Ron Junior spewed out about President Bush back then?

Posted on 04/17/2003 8:18:29 AM PDT by conservativeinbflo.

Ron Reagan Jr. is furious that the Bush administration styles itself as heir to President Reagan's political legacy.

"The Bush people have no right to speak for my father, particularly because of the position he's in now," the longtime liberal and former ballet dancer told Salon.

"Yes, some of the current policies are an extension of the '80's. But the overall thrust of this administration is not my father's--these people are overly reaching, overly aggressive, overly secretive, and just plain corrupt. I don't trust these people."

There are two sons of Ronald Reagan. One got his fathers name and the other got his fathers values.

Michael is a true honor to his father.

I knew immediately who Ron was talking about and was so sad that he chose that moment to do so, especially after President Bush had gone out of his way to be kind to his family. His Father would never have done such a thing, but as the article states, the son is a liberal, as is Patty.

I thought he took a slap at this dad too:

He was, as you know, a famously optimistic man. Sometimes such optimism leads you to see the world as you wish it were as opposed to how it really is.

Watching him at the funeral in the cathedral, he was awful showing off how disinterested he was in any of the religious portions of the service. No surprise to find out he's an avowed atheist.

The thing to remember with Ron and Patti is that they were never one to speak for their father. They were in fact estranged from him. Patti actively worked against her father in protests and books and such. I believe I've heard of Ron's liberal politics too. They are nothing like their father and DO NOT SPEAK FOR THEIR FATHER. And that was a disgrace to use his funeral for a political attack. Patti and Ron will never change. Michael is his father's son. Maureen was his daughter too. As for Nancy, let's hope she doesn't betray her husband's memory in using it to attack this President and push for a stem cell research using his name in which he was strongly pro-life.

It's not what Ron Jr. - or any other liberal - says"

It's what WE KNOW, that counts. If Ron Jr. wants to be a liberal, then fine - his Father made sure he has the right to be one and say whatever he wants.

What the liberals SAY is not important, it's how we REACT to it. Wringing our hands and gnashing our teeth because this wimp said something that we don't agree with, does'nt make it so.

"W" has been sniped at enough times to not let this matter to him at all. We'll let Ron Jr. go back to his dog shows, and Patti can go back to whatever she does...hair stylist school, hopefully.

I did notice that Ron Jr. and Patti were always trying to squeeze Michael into the background at the funeral...but I considered the source.

Nancy and young Ron Reagan are on their knees when they “face” John Kerry and the Democratic party both of them should be ashamed of themselves ……..
