They make these wonderful devices called 'curtains,' nowadays. Marvel of modern engineering. The gist of it is that a piece of cloth can be drawn - either horizontally OR vertically - across any transparent surface, thus blocking out any external light source. Like something out of Ray Bradbury, I know, but I think this couple should give it a shot.

Or they could wall up the windows. Make all their workers wear little mini cubicles to prevent them from seeing.

I heard yesterday someone (Al Gore?) invented what they call "invisible walls". Those that you can look through - obviously they have one installed and don't know how to use it...
