June 15, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Scott Peterson hotly cursed and threw a flashlight after police grilled him about his suspicious fishing trip the day his pregnant wife, Laci, disappeared, one officer testified yesterday.
"I asked him what he was fishing for," Modesto Detective Matthew Spurlock told rapt jurors during the start of the third week of Peterson's murder trial.
"He had this blank look for a second or so, his eyes shifted a bit. And he didn't really answer the question.
"I asked what he was using for bait, and I got the same kind of response . . . this blank shifting," Spurlock said. "He couldn't really answer. Then he said, 'a silver lure,' and he held his hands about 7 to 8 inches apart."
Spurlock said that when he then asked Peterson to leave the house, he watched as the fertilizer salesman cursed through gritted teeth and threw a flashlight to the ground.
"It sounded like 'f - - -,' like it was being said out of frustration," the cop said............

REDWOOD CITY -- The judge in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial refused to declare a mistrial Monday over surprise testimony about Peterson's use of an obscenity shortly after his pregnant wife disappeared.
Superior Court Judge Alfred Delucchi gently chastised prosecutor Rick Distaso for pulling a fast one, but concluded that it was not a gross violation of trial procedure.
Also Monday, Sharon Rocha cried as she looked away from a large screen showing remains of her daughter, Laci Peterson. Minutes later, pictures of her smiling daughter splashed on the screen and Rocha quietly got up and exited the courtroom.
And two Modesto police officers said Scott Peterson seemed caught off-guard when first asked about his solo fishing trip.
Sparks flew after lead defense attorney Mark Geragos asked Delucchi for a mistrial, in a motion that drew snickers from the audience.........

Interesting! I know there were two occasions we heard about regarding the sonar having seen something interesting. Both were in the Bay.
One was in January. I think the conclusion on that one was that they figured out it was an anchor, but they held off telling the public for sure, b/c they were sort of playing Scott, to see if he'd freak out and break down and confess.
The one in March, now that's the one that you've referenced. Who knows what they really found there. But we'll hear about it eventually!

After all, Scott and Jackson have a "Mark" in common, you know!
That's my attitude...I don't like taking rumors seriously until they are substantiated....All this time I thought it was a FACT that Scott arrived 10 minutes late to the vigil..
Cloward testified he came early and put up big posters. He did call Amber, he was pictured with a big smile, he did not join the family, but he wasn't late. It takes away from actual weird behavior when its embroidered or just plain not true.
It takes away from real evidence when dramatic evidence is rumored and yet is never presented.( Hoping and praying they have found an anchor that matches up with concrete in his warehouse or backyard.)
MG was once a student of Professor Goldman's...so I imagine they go back a long way.
Very interesting information and it helps explain his "Geragos had them eating out of his hand" ,etc.

And the divers didn't necessarily share their findings with the out of state sonar guy.
Sonar produces vague images, side sonar produces more clear images and divers with cameras could produce the clear images that CO has described. MPD has been tightlipped since the beginning so reading between the lines is necessary.

I wonder if said porn was saved on the computer, or if it had just been on a site that he accessed. I mean, his having looked at something once, to me, is not the same as his having deliberately saved it, as though it were a favorite of his!
Which brings me to something I said the other evening, while I was in the midst of watching Greta and LKL, when their topic was this case. Some smart-mouth on there had just finished saying, "The state just doesn't have blah blah blah." I said to my husband, Wouldn't it be funny if Amber testified and said something like, "A couple times when Scott and I were intimate, he put his hands around my neck and I thought he would never stop pressing on my neck!!" Or how about if Amber said, "Scott wanted me to let him tie me up, but I said no b/c I think that stuff is dangerous"?
In my mind, I hadn't emphasized his lateness to the vigil--but one thing that I noticed from the very start (and I watched this thing since it was first on TV) was that "the husband" was extremely camera-shy. I always thought that was odd.
Then one day someone on here said, "Not only is he never interviewed, but when he has to be on camera, he wears a hat low over his eyes." Which was TRUE!
And I noticed right off that when they had their vigil, he did not sit on the stage w/ family, not even with his own parents. I found that PROFOUNDLY weird!
And THEN I saw that picture of him taken at that New Year's Eve candlelight vigil. He is not just smiling, he is clearly yukking it up!! He looks exactly like a guy you'd see on a college campus during a cold-weather keg party in a courtyard or something. I mean, exactly! Right down to the way he was holding his candle like it was a drink.
Yeah, but I heard that Distaso (or the other prosecutor) was also a student of Goldman's, too!
Yup, we have those here too. Were these funds available to your L. BEFORE the proceedings against the scumbag Hull were over?
But Meg said it was some fund on which Scott and Sharon were the ONLY signatories, that Scott tried to access!

If it's true, then he is a pig and a total idiot. (Big surprise.)
BUT if it's true, and if it was Sharon who noticed what he was doing, I wonder why it was not brought up during Sharon's testimony. I'm still not sure what the original source of this info was.
I tied in his call to Amber with the lateness...It is a small matter in a long line of bad or strange behavior...
He, of course was hiding from Amber is one reason he skulked around in caps and did not speak on TV. What a JERK!
