SCOTT'S FISHY FURY
By HOWARD BREUER
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 15, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. Scott Peterson hotly cursed and threw a flashlight after police grilled him about his suspicious fishing trip the day his pregnant wife, Laci, disappeared, one officer testified yesterday.
"I asked him what he was fishing for," Modesto Detective Matthew Spurlock told rapt jurors during the start of the third week of Peterson's murder trial.
"He had this blank look for a second or so, his eyes shifted a bit. And he didn't really answer the question.
"I asked what he was using for bait, and I got the same kind of response . . . this blank shifting," Spurlock said. "He couldn't really answer. Then he said, 'a silver lure,' and he held his hands about 7 to 8 inches apart."
Spurlock said that when he then asked Peterson to leave the house, he watched as the fertilizer salesman cursed through gritted teeth and threw a flashlight to the ground.
"It sounded like 'f - - -,' like it was being said out of frustration," the cop said............

REDWOOD CITY -- The judge in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial refused to declare a mistrial Monday over surprise testimony about Peterson's use of an obscenity shortly after his pregnant wife disappeared.
Superior Court Judge Alfred Delucchi gently chastised prosecutor Rick Distaso for pulling a fast one, but concluded that it was not a gross violation of trial procedure.
Also Monday, Sharon Rocha cried as she looked away from a large screen showing remains of her daughter, Laci Peterson. Minutes later, pictures of her smiling daughter splashed on the screen and Rocha quietly got up and exited the courtroom.
And two Modesto police officers said Scott Peterson seemed caught off-guard when first asked about his solo fishing trip.
Sparks flew after lead defense attorney Mark Geragos asked Delucchi for a mistrial, in a motion that drew snickers from the audience.........

June 14 (BCN) A furious Mark Geragos asked for a mistrial this morning in the Scott Peterson double murder trial after prosecutors failed to inform him that a police officer overheard Peterson use an expletive on the night his wife Laci went missing. .........

Oh he was animated THAT night alright when talking with police. But when it came to looking for Laci he didn't need to expend any energy. He KNEW exactly where she was. And frankly in regard to the trial, Geragos is NOT going to be impressing THIS jury. They are not the LA Jury and he's NOT Johnny Cochran.!!
heath=health
I would think if he pulled the Johnny Cochran act...he may as well give Snott the injection himself...
ABSOLUTELY. And I have no doubt Laci was aware of all of these health hazard and avoided them. In fact, my daughter took her hair dressers course and she was pregnant. While she was pregnant she was NOT allowed to even do perms.
Laci never saw the boat because she never went in the warehouse because of all the fertilizer.
Geragos said so. The question is what was she doing near the warehouse on the 20th with Scott. Why was Scott taking her around there. Knowing he had a boat in there that he did not want her to see. This sounds so convoluted.. Think he was just spreading her scent around the city streets????
I think he's lying his A$$ off!! Laci NEVER went anywhere near there NOR did she EVER know of that boat.
I'm heading out so I can catch LKL. BBL
Distaso focuses on Laci's clothes.
There's a link in post #28 to a map.
sorry but I disagree about this trial not being televised as we are at the mercy of the media to report what they want if they want
I love how defense talking heads differ from prosecutors in describing what happened, and what it will mean to the jury.
I am not sure what the sonar could prove as we have the bodies....unless it is much clearer than I imagine.
from what I understood from some site I was reading is that the sonar not only shows the label on pants but the fact that laci had a very full belly therefor conner could not have been born alive.
You are correct. If I recall correctly it had something to do with parasites in the liter and when you chage it there is dust which you breath in and those parasites can get into the fetus.
Thanks Dave, that was the one.
I really wish it was televised also. I'm SICK TO DEATH of the media spin. And could somebody tell me why I continue to torture myself watching LKL?? Crap, other than Nancy, and the one former Prosecutor, I was so mad I was nearly frothing. I kept saying to myself - THAT'S IT!! No MORE.
I have read the SAME thing fiesti. The sonar takes clear pictures it said, REGARDLESS of the murky underwater conditions. It stated that she was still "full with child"!! AND it identified where she was tethered. Neck, arms, something about being cinched around the middle and then I don't think it mentioned the lower extremities. I was absolutely FURIOUS after listening to LKL tonight. I'm really sick of Pixley and Cardoza makes my blood boil. "If that's all the Prosecution has blah blah blah". How do THEY know EXACTLY what the Prosecution has????
If in fact the sonar does show Laci with a full belly then there goes Gerapalopes defense saying that Conner was full term and born alive.
I wonder if in fact they do have a sonar picture showing this because it was stated that the prosecutors had to turn over all evidence to the defense right away. If that is the case then I wouldn't think Gerapalope would be out there saying Conner was born alive and full term.
I've also read Spunky that LE has retrieved ALL five anchors and that they are having some Expert in cement testifying. Geragos HAS to know that they have these Experts on the list to testify. I think that Distaso will turn over the pics very soon. Actually he has to plus the report of the cement guy. And would you believe that the Defense has an Expert (Guess who) who will testify that HE believes Connor was born alive? Who other than Henry Lee is willing to prostitute his profession like that? Cyril Wecht has refused to testify. `
CO, where are you finding all this information? I am cable deprived so I don't hear anything. It is hard for me to keep up with these threads also.
I had just replied to fiesti, that I thought the prosecution had to turn all evidence over to Gerapalope and if this was true about the sonar, I wouldn't think Gerapalope would have been saying that Conner was full term and born alive.
Gerapalope threw a fit about the police stating Scotty cussed and threw down the flashlight and the prosecution never told him. Can you just imagine what he will do if the sonar thing showing Laci with child is in fact true.
"But he loves the thrill of the chase. And he has to be #1. Connor was about to move in on his territory. I fully believe Connor was the intended victim all along and Laci was just the vessel to get to him."
Yes, what you've said makes sense, although we don't know for sure. He does appear to be an obsessive guy and, perhaps, thrilled by the hunt or conquest.
