SCOTT'S FISHY FURY

SCOTT'S FISHY FURY

By HOWARD BREUER

June 15, 2004 -- REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — Scott Peterson hotly cursed and threw a flashlight after police grilled him about his suspicious fishing trip the day his pregnant wife, Laci, disappeared, one officer testified yesterday.

"I asked him what he was fishing for," Modesto Detective Matthew Spurlock told rapt jurors during the start of the third week of Peterson's murder trial.

"He had this blank look for a second or so, his eyes shifted a bit. And he didn't really answer the question.

"I asked what he was using for bait, and I got the same kind of response . . . this blank shifting," Spurlock said. "He couldn't really answer. Then he said, 'a silver lure,' and he held his hands about 7 to 8 inches apart."

Spurlock said that when he then asked Peterson to leave the house, he watched as the fertilizer salesman cursed through gritted teeth and threw a flashlight to the ground.

"It sounded like 'f - - -,' like it was being said out of frustration," the cop said............

Mistrial denied in surprise testimony

REDWOOD CITY -- The judge in Scott Peterson's double-murder trial refused to declare a mistrial Monday over surprise testimony about Peterson's use of an obscenity shortly after his pregnant wife disappeared.

Superior Court Judge Alfred Delucchi gently chastised prosecutor Rick Distaso for pulling a fast one, but concluded that it was not a gross violation of trial procedure.

Also Monday, Sharon Rocha cried as she looked away from a large screen showing remains of her daughter, Laci Peterson. Minutes later, pictures of her smiling daughter splashed on the screen and Rocha quietly got up and exited the courtroom.

And two Modesto police officers said Scott Peterson seemed caught off-guard when first asked about his solo fishing trip.

Sparks flew after lead defense attorney Mark Geragos asked Delucchi for a mistrial, in a motion that drew snickers from the audience.........

I'm fine, but thanks for asking.

I live in northern California,so I didn't even feel the quakes.

I went through the Loma Prieta quake, so a 5.1 and a 4.7 are nothing!!LOL!!!

CO, someone posted a map on here a few days ago that showed landmarks that the prosecutor was talking about. Do you remember which thread that was on?

Scotty would be at the top of my list for a wood shampoo.

Te Tao Shampoo, Wood, Bamboo Tea Soothing

Somehow I don't think this is the kind of Wood Shampoo you are talking about.;-)

He's having a meltdown now because, IMO, he knows that the cards are stacked against his client. He will ask for a mistrial at every little off color thing that happens in this trial.
No one says this investigation will be perfect. But, IMO it will be as close to perfect as possible. I keep saying this, but I think the state of CA has learned allot from the OJ trial.
And also, IMO, the worst thing that Geragroid could have done is used the "Rush to judgment" phrase...too many people think OJ got away with murder...this haunting phrase will not sit well in their minds. I cannot wait till they get to the cement evidence...and I keep thinking about the DUCT TAPE.

If "Laci wouldn't go to bathroom in the back of the warehouse" then why in the hell is MG trying to claim that a witness saw her squatting and whizzing on the side of a road???? I cannot feature Laci doing that!!!

I read boat cover with gas. Tarp with fertilizer. Thing is both were in his Covena yard. Distaso's opener is 170+ pages. He said you can see in picture from (D.Grogan) on the 24th PM that the boat cover was in the boat. Yet, days later same boat cover is at Snot's house soaked with gas. Why? To clean it? What was so important about this boat cover that he felt he needed to do anything with it?
I asked hubby. Boat covers are vinyl (to repell water) you clean vinyl with mild detergent a little bleach if it has mildew. Never use oil based solutions or flamable chemicals. Gas has a flamable chemistry that will eat holes in the vinyl.

Maybe that's what he wanted.

You know he could have very well gone during the night..between 8:30PM and 5:00AM...made the daylight trip to get the launch receipt that he SOOO wanted to produce as soon as LE got to his house. Seems to me that he was more animated when trying to give that to LE than he was in the activities to find his "missing wife."

Also trying to claim that Witness saw her in the boat on the 20th. How? Geragos stated that she would not go anywhere near that liquid fertilizer.. "ANYWHERE NEAR" the boat was in with the fertilizer... That's why she went next door.

What is a wood shampoo, or is it something unsavory that shouldn't be posted on this site?

Your a genius JC!!
This is an excellent question for our RNs..
Not being a cat owner myself, but I seem to recall that a pregnant woman should not be changing the litter box.
AND..working at a school I know we a limited, very much so, to what we can use to fertilize, weed kill and exterminate.
Knowing what we do of Laci..I would think she would have been heath conscience enough to know to stay away from the fertilizer, at all costs.
