Attorney General John Ashcroft announces four-count terrorism indictment against a Somali held in Ohio.
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A Somali citizen held in immigration custody in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been indicted in an alleged al Qaeda plot to bomb an Ohio shopping mall, Justice Department officials said Monday.
Nuradin Abdi, 32, of Somalia was indicted on four charges of providing material support to al Qaeda, U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft announced.
Another law enforcement official said Abdi had a relationship with Iyman Faris, an Ohio truck driver convicted last year of providing material support for al Qaeda.
"It is alleged that Abdi, along with admitted al Qaeda operative Iyman Faris and other co-conspirators, initiated a plot to blow up a Columbus-area shopping mall. It also is alleged that in pursuit of this plot, Abdi received bomb-making instructions from one of those co-conspirators," a Justice Department statement said.

Thanks for an update from the hyper-partisan insane.... You know I thought of them during it all, but my conspiracy theory is BETTER than there's. I was certain they would bring up that this is a campaign stunt because Ohio is a huge battleground state and this is a reminder to the swing voters that the most important issue in the election is terrorism.
I shouldn't be giving them any ideas, but its good to know that even without trying I am a smarter, more creative conspiracy theorist than they are.
