	Morning in America June 12 -- The passing of former U.S. President Ronald W. Reagan left the world mourning and meant the Military District of Washington would have the solemn honor of rendering a state funeral for the former commander-and-chief. The week-long ceremony featured numerous service members from every branch of the military working tirelessly to ensure the proper honors and respect were paid to the man many consider the “greatest president of the twentieth century,” credited with bringing an end to the Cold War, bringing prosperity and building the nation's might. The Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard personnel who carried forward the funeral plan developed with the family were but bit players in history, although expressive of the national will to honor its great men. Those in uniform are asked to represent their country, in peace and in war. There is pride in that and their was great pride in expressing a nation's respect for President Reagan. In the coming days, more material will come to be added to this site as materials are gathered and questions are addressed. The MDW Media Operations Center that undertook the task of assisting the media and the public to understand the military role is closing today. Personnel will be found in their customary duty locations in coming days, and will continue to provide help from those locations. Comments and suggestions that the media or the public wish to make regarding the execution of any aspect of the state funeral may be sent to the following email address: mdwpaomediacenter@fmmc.army.mil. The many questions posed in the Frequently Asked Questions portion of this site will continue to be worked for the time being to insure that our responses are as complete and accurate as we can make them. The great and free press of the United States conveyed the final images of the funeral. "Ronald Reagan belongs to the ages now, but we preferred it when he belonged to us," President George W. Bush said at the funeral service. With the conclusion of the ceremony, the former president was taken to Andrews Air Force Base for a final flight back home to California for the family service and interment at the Reagan Library. There, as the last rays of the sun pierced the California sky, Ronald Reagan was at last laid to rest. Today the sun rose again. Morning in America.

The Democrats obscene behavior in Florida, circa 2000, had their lawyers nit picking every military ballot, to toss out ballots for the most trivial things while they sued to have the weak impressions on punchcard ballots that showed not even a 'hanging chad' counted if they were for Goreghoul. THAT crap had better not be repeated this time around. It was obvious Gore failed to steal the election via the Florida counts and recounts. The democrats had better leave their usual criminal ballot box stuffing and criminal counts and votes from long dead democrats out of this election or Hillary won't have a party to run over in 2008.

There are people who once lived in Soviet block countries who regard President Ronald Reagan as their liberator and appreciate his and America's work to free them, unlike the french and West German hypocrites. People in East germany know the truth though.

I have a feeling that the same will be spoken of President Bush in decades to come in Iraq. We can pray the same occurs in Iran and Syria in the not so distant future. THEN the war on terrorist Islamism will be on the way to being won!

The last piece played at National Funeral was the main theme from Mel Gibson's movie, We Were Soldiers."

AWESOME!

As that song was playing I was completely captured by the work, and as it was fading and the audio/video was transferring to outside the cathedral I thought how it sounded like an outstanding movie score. How fitting that it was the closing credits in the movie and funeral as well.

I also meant to note that C-SPAN stuck with their shot of people paying their respects to the casket until midnight. At the end you saw the military from the honor guard and the band / orchestra approach in twos and threes and render a salute, sometimes slowly as did the honor guard leader at each changing of the guard. America's finest!
