Even the cartoons can make me cry.
I haven't been moved to tears yet, but #7 came close to doing the job.
All 12 are great cartoons, but I can't help wondering where those cartoonists were during the 1980s when RR was being savaged daily as an evil buffoon in most of those same papers.
Come to think of it, I suppose most of them were still in high school. I sometimes forget how old I am until my aching knees remind me.
I know what you mean....
I have Mozilla and installed BugMeNots FireFox extension. Wow, now I totally bypass the registration screens! Thanks.
#4. Uncle Sam grieving. Very fitting. Thank you for the post.

Re your post #47 - Thanks for posting that. Yes, I saw a number of jellybean-themed cartoons. I wanted to include one, so thanks for posting yours. :)
Re your post #45 - Very nice. Thanks for posting that cartoon to this thread, mwyounce. :)
RE your post #51 - Oh, thanks so much for posting all those cartoons, cgk! :)
Welcome! Another FReeper passed it on to me, so I'm passing it on, too.
:) Thank YOU for this thread. Many of them brought me to tears, again. We just went to the procession last night for his final trip "home" to the Library, and I am still awestruck.
You know, you're right. All those great generals won their victories at the cost of thousands of lives. RR totally defeated the most powerful and dangerous evil empire ever to menace the USA, and he did it without spilling a drop of American blood. Or Soviet blood either for that matter. It doesn't get any better than that.
Did God answer Reagan's prayer "God bless America" that he placed at the end of every TV address to the nation? You bet He did, and He did it by giving us such a great man as RR to lead America and the entire world through it's most dangerous years in recent history. President Bush prays that same prayer at the close of his speeches, let us all pray that God answers his prayers in the same manner in which he answered RR's, by total victory over terrorism.
Does anyone remember the week-long media-orchestrated 'The Nation is in Mourning" period after Magic Johnson's tragic announcment that he'd been infected (and probably infected others) with the HIV virus?
Thanks summer! The tears keep coming for me....these are wonderful.
