ANTHEM, NICK GLENNIE-SMITH SUNG BY THE ARMED FORCES CHORUS WITH THE US MARINE CHAMBER ORCHESTRA
To fallen soldiers let us sing Where no rockets fly nor bullets wing Our broken brothers let us bring To the Mansions of the Lord.
No more bleeding, no more fight No prayers pleading through the night Just divine embrace, eternal light In the Mansions of the Lord.
Where no mothers cry and no children weep We will stand and guard though the angels sleep Through the ages safely keep The Mansions of the Lord.
Randall Wallace

Well said -- I think our battlecry needs to be Win One for the Gipper!
It was like when President Bush spoke today President Reagan had given him his sure manner of speaking.

That's funny because this morning, Ed Rollins was on Fox and Friends and when he was asked about the landslide that he orchestrated, he said....."Well, we did lose Minnesota!" LOL!!!

The greatest President of the 20th Century... #2 or #3 in history?
Second best of the 20th Century. I'll take Teddy over Reagan anyday.
Interesting question. I originally, automatically, put Reagan behind TR, because I love TR so much. But, reflecting on his accomplishments and challenges, I think President Reagan accomplished more than President T. Roosevelt. Here's how I see it:
Roosevelt: Built up US Navy, made US an international power. Settled Sino-Japanese war. Signed anti-trust law. Built up national park system. Presided over a time of great prosperity and growth (1905-1913)
Reagan: Restored US optimism. Reduced inflation from 15% to 7%. Reduced taxes. Destroyed the idea of raising taxes as a political manuever. Reduced interest rates from 21% to 10%. Delivered Grenada from communism. Built up Strategic Defense Initiative and US military, leading to fall of communism: all of Eastern Europe in 1989-1992 and USSR in 1992. Delivered Nicaraugua and El Salvador from Communism. Agreed to mutual build down of nuclear weapons with the USSR. Overcame assassination attempt and hostile media, and reluctant allies.
I think President Reagan did more under greater adversity than President Roosevelt.

No offense to our California FRiends but that is especially uplifting and encouraging to see happening out there. No offense taken, as it's been happening here since 1980. Glad to see you folks from out of state catching up.
The greatest state of the greatest country on earth.
We will never forget President Reagan.

And does anyone else feel like this? When I shed tears during the service, they not only were for the Reagans but also for my Dad, my deceased Mother, my sister, others close to me.Yes. I lost one grandmother in 2000 (to Alzheimer's, no less), and another early this year.
This ain't easy for me...

Governor Schwarzeneggar appeared positively clenched with emotion. I think we'll see a lot of emotion tonight during the final farewell.
