Please folks, go to C-SPAN at 8:00PM Eastern. They are covering it live. It pains me to see so many FReepers angered by the chattering class on the commercial networks.Or FOX News Channel ! They have done an EXCELLENT job this whole week !
Hi Gabz...we had 106,000 in California alone. DC was MUCH MUCH higher. I'd like to know a REAL count, too...
You're welcome
I'll ask no more questions, after this one ! :^D
You promise.....:-)
His funeral service this morning was just beautiful. I'll be watching his internment service this evening.
Oh, the children are going to speak.
Michael will break down. He's taking
this so hard. God bless him.
Evening Ringy .. it's been a very long day
and for the fresh thread, Dog :)
If anyone hear listens to country...KZLA, the station in Los Angeles, put together an interesting tribute song using Vince Gill's Go Rest High On That Mountain...
http://www.kzla.com/events/reagan_tribute.aspx
it is posted online
(heck, its good even if you dont like country)
I'm rewatching the service on CSpan right now...Beautiful ...even better the second time.
I know .. I'm gonna need a drink before this night is over.
BTW, everyone...the weather is beautiful out here today. Not sure if you care, I just thought I'd throw it in. :-)
In Washington, probably 2x or more were viewing, as they had two entry lines open. CNN reported one estimate of 10,000 per hour. FoxNews had said yesterday, 5,000 per hour.
Had the return to California been by train, literally millions would have lined the tracks across the country.
I just caught Tynans Amazing Grace and it was some tribute. You could see him building and he hit every note to perfection. I must get me a copy of that.
Hi Gramma.........
It's been a heck of a week.
Hubby and I went out for a while this afternoon and I lost it totally while sitting at the bar playing trivia.....As Mrs. Reagan reached the door of the plane and turned to wave, CBS had a picture in the upper left hand corner of Her and President Reagan doing it on the last time they got on board Air Force One.
I was comparing the size of the two rooms, the Library and the Rotunda; the one being SO MUCH larger. The people were moving through just as fast at one as the other. The # in DC must have been astronomical.
And yes, that train ride...wouldn't THAT have been something?
That is one of many beautiful tributes. Very touching.
Plenty of Puffs Plus to go around now...
Where is O'Reilly's mug on that pic? Will he be pre-empted this evening?
I think tonight's going to be the hardest yet for Nancy and the family.
