It was inappropriate -- and I don't think I've heard a more impersonal eulogy from a child. Michael and Patti Reagan's were much more affecting.
To: ClarenceThomasfan
Did he just make a dig a W? Or am I just overreacting?
Only if you think Bush wears his religion on his sleeve for political purposes. I don't.

If you're not a liberal at 20, you have no heart, and if you're not a conservative at age 40,...

THANK YOU RONNIE AND NANCY!
A Star-Spangled Banner with no trills and vocal histrionics or strings or nonsense!

"After the assassination, he believed he had a Divine purpose not a mandate. There is a big difference." The term was "responsibility," and I didn't take it as a slam either.
To: don-o
Me neither. But, some folks are looking at anything to jump ugly on. Yep. Waiting to be offended.

I think that it was a slap at W too.

Was Margaret Thatcher singing the Star Spangled Banner? Looked like it to me.

I'll take it as a swipe at the Demo-Libs who believe that President Reagan was a dangerous religious zealot who risked all mankind through his "superstitious beliefs."

At the Washington Cathedral service, President H. W. Bush (41) referred to Michael, Patti, and Ron as "kids," and then begged their indulgence, as he (41) was eighty years old.
So, with no disrespect intended, I'll say "great job, kids."
To: txradioguy
But I missed what he said. And there seems to be an OBVIOUS tension between Michael and Ron. Maybe Michael's radio show gets better ratings?

I swear I didn't hear what he said that was objectionable. He said his father was private about religion,,that last thing about when we are all free was edgy. Someone explain.
