[history]
"We in the media failed the nation by not reporting these things about Reagan at the time.
"I have learned a lot about this side of Ronald Reagan...things I never new before. So I, too, have failed America."
[paraphrased]
More..
Bernard Shaw: "Can I say something that touches on a very sensitive issue? The news media, and how we failed to thoroughly cover and communicate the very essences we're talking about possessed by Ronald Reagan. What I've been reading and what I've been hearing, I did not get during his two terms in office. Or did I miss something?" Wolf Blitzer: "I think you're on to something, Bernie, uh.. "
Shaw: "I think we failed our viewers, listeners and readers to an appreciable extent. I can't quantify it, but I'll put it there. Because I certainly missed a lot."

"Hogwash. There is new material but a record number of voters didn't need it in order to understand and vote for what Judy and Bernie and Wolfie will never comprehend: Reagan was right. They were wrong."
To little too late and Shaw got his retirement fund while badmouthing and keeping Sadam in power. I suspect this might all be bullsheet.
Judy Woodruff is Al Hunts wife. They are bottom feeders in The Capitol.

It is time to send a kind message. Who has the contact info for Bernard Shaw?
Keep in mind that he unwittingly destroyed Dukakis in 1988. He asked the question about a wife being raped a murdered. The answer was so weak that Dukakis, I believe, lost the election that night.

I remember one occassion where Kristinn and I ran across Bernie Shaw outside Olive's Restaurant where a big party was going on. I got to yell across the street to him, "Peggy Noonan was right, you are a lap dog."
Forget the exact details, but at the time Noonan had just used that term about CNN or Bernie in particular that day or the day before.

"Who really cares what Bernie Shaw says anymore.....remember he was the dude who would not furnish info concerning Saddam."
Well, if he knew then; 'what he knows now'; perhaps that whole episode would have been different.
We might just appreciate, that the next time Reagan's name comes up for laugh among the Leftist media; there may be some defense of him, coming for the same quarters.
That is quite a step; wondered this week; after incredible stories and tributes; how these people went to bed at night without re-thinking 'who' they are. Good to see one at least one, offering publicly; a slight change of heart.

This isn't the Onion, so this actually happened? Yes, they didn't report anything good about Reagan, and they are doing even worse by the current President. Will they learn anything from this? (doubtful)

So, where's a link to the actual article? A link to cnn.com is completely useless.

Sorry I missed Shaw's comments, I never watch CNN any more.

I believe the change started when the New York Times shined a light on themselves. This is fallout. It might become fashionable for the media to live an examined life. I'm not ready to be magnanimous, but there's hope, and that's a nice change...
We should be powerful and single minded in battle and magnanimous in victory.
