To see how low the once-mighty LA Times has gone, see the Sunday, 6 Jun editorial on Reagan's passing. The most mean-spirited, ugly, negative editorial yet in this sorry newspaper. Almost no positive notes, and those were qualified by negative slams. Main thing is, why? He's not running for office, he has been out of the Presidency for these 15 years. Apparently, the LAT felt it had to squash the universal love for the man and his times, especially the outpouring of respect and honor in the past week. Old Pravda or Der Sturmer could not have done it better.
I wish that paper would hurry up and die.
Because even though he is dead...they still fear him and what he represented. Particularly because of this outpouring, they fear him now and they will fear him after he is buried...and they will fear him until their dying day. they will do so because he stoodd for the truth and they stand for a lie.
Isn't that Soooooooo sad. A Communist newspaper in our nation.
Its hard to believe it now but a lifetime ago this newspaper actually endorsed Barry Goldwater for President over President Lyndon Johnson! Of course that was when it was run by the Chandler family. Its under different management now.
Democrat John Kerry (news - web sites) has a solid lead over President Bush (news - web sites) among voters nationwide, according to a Los Angeles Times poll on June 10, 2004 that cited widespread unease over the country's direction, Iraq (news - web sites) policies and the economy. Kerry, the U.S. senator from Massachusetts, led Bush by 51 percent to 44 percent nationally in a two-way match-up, according to the poll of 1,230 registered voters taken from June 5 to June 8, 2004. I think they have made a mistake!
Larry King with Tim Russert are giving a very nice tribute to Ronald Reagan and talking about he won the Cold War....they get it.
And the final few minutes were a tribute to Nancy and Ronnie with phots of them together set to music.
It will die when advertisers realize it costs them business to advertise in the LAtimes. The targets who will be most vulerable are the staple advertisers like the retailers or the car and real estate advertisers.
