France certainly isn't America's "best ally." But they -- along with other European nations -- do maintain formal relations with the U.S. that are deeper than the relations we enjoy with most countries.

Kerry doesn't even rise to the level of a frog - he's a toad (and this from a proud American of French Canadian descent).
