God bless Michael Reagan. I couldn't hardly believe my eyes when I saw how blatantly they excluded Michael.
I feel so hurt for him... And I, too, thought it strange that NANCY'S children were there, and Michael had to last minute rush to get to his father's bedside.
I know he would have been there if someone had taken the trouble to phone him.

I have been proud of Nancy's devotion to President Reagan during these awful years...But anyone could see and hear Michael's love for his father.

Wonder if Nancy has a friend who could tell her how bad she and her children look...on TV in front of the world.

She should have known that the camera sees everything. Perhaps she doesn't care, so long as they hurt Michael.
This ugliness has marred my emotions during these days.

If that is true about Nancy - I'm afraid it confirms my feelings toward her during their tenure. The gall of her "resenting" his presence. Does she think a son is to give up his father and being around him because it "offends" her?

She probably expected him to become unadopted and disappear when she entered the picture - a typical Hollywood view.

Hate to say these things about her because I admire the love and care she gave the President but I always felt she was really a class A very shallow snob who happened to marry a wonderful man.

Thanks for posting these articles. I love Michael and I can just imagine how Reagan loved him too. What is there not to love? Maybe Nancy resented him because of this love and the fact of the problems with her children.

IMHO I feel they are two people that should not have had children. They were so very self contained with each other, that they had nothing left for the children. (Of course, I could be very wrong).

May God bless Michael and help him accept this situation. It looks like he has learned to handle it very well. These things happened even in the Bible - one son favored over others.

Good explanation and you are right. Hope that is all there was to it. Just don't want Michael hurt during this time.

Interesting that Michael seems the most good hearted and the one doing his best to follow in the footsteps

i believe Michael is a born-again Christian... Patti and Ron Jr. are not... i'm not surprised that Michael is behaving more Christ-like...

p.s.--i was bothered that in this week's commemorative magazines, i saw plenty of pictures of Ronald and Nancy with Patti and Ron Jr. from their childhood--but none of Michael and Maureen w/their father...

now this seems to be going too far... i read that Ron Jr. was in town from Hawaii (so he was probably staying w/his parents)... Michael was stuck in traffic... he had been w/his father a few times during the week... he received an urgent call in the morning and headed over to the house... traffic kept him from being there...

Not to be a pain here but Ron P. Reagan is not a Jr. Pres. Reagan's spokesperson made several comments about this on Monday. His name is actually Ronald P. Reagan. I cannot remember what the "P" is for.

I have been waiting to see if anyone noticed how much Ron Jr. acted like the hostess of a cocktail party smiling and so animated at the beginning of the ceremony at the Library? I told my husband he looked like a relative who just left the reading of a will and was left a great deal of inheritance. I felt he was very inappropriate in his expressions smiling when he should be solemn, even yesterday befor the Rotunda ceremony with he and Patti smiling and switching places and a little laugh between them.

Nancy should make a place for Michael and at least try to love him because Ronnie did.

He's certainly more deserving than her own children but maybe that's the problem.

Does anyone know if Michael Reagan has an email address? I would like to email him a note to applaud him for being a class act.

I'm guessing that there is some tension between Nancy and Mike. I sure hope it is not because he was adopted (something I did not know until this week.)

dmanLA,

Michael's web site is http://www.reagan.com/

He still has a radio show but it does not appear to be on AM stations like it used to be. I cut my teeth listening to the Michael Reagan show. Because of him I found Drudge then Free Republic.

Andrew,

Thanks for the update. I am glad to hear that. He is not on the air up here in the Twin Cities. Hey, I do miss that Texas barbecue, catfish and Tex-Mex.

I think that Michael Reagan is the greatest but why was he shunned at the state funeral? Why was he relegated to the back row while Ron Jr and Patty were up front with their Mom?

On the non-cable channels (I don't have cable), I have yet to hear any reporter even mention that Ron Reagan adopted Michael, or that he even exists.

It makes me rather ill.

One can only speculate as to why. I can't help but wonder if (tin foil hat alert) some of them are afraid people will tune into Mike Reagan's radio program if they mention him? I don't know. But I do not like it.

I have never, never, heard Ron Jr. say one good thing about his father, what he stood for, or what he accomplished.

PBS played part one of a two-parter on Reagan tonight and in it, in some old footage, Ronald P. Reagan did speak well of his father a number of times. He presented him as a deeply caring man who would never suspect anyone of wanting to stab him in the back, and he DID say his mom would be the one to think that could happen.

P stands for Prescott. Thanks for the clarification about the misuse of Jr. I guess it makes it easier to to distinguish the two.

You are so right! Not once...no mention at all.

The media's agenda is clearly manipulative. Your example proves their craftiness.

This family had its own internal dynamics just like every other family.

All of this mind reading and body language scanning is quite funny, petty, but funny.

It leaves one with the impression that FR is just a bunch of old wash women with no lives of their own.

Michael is not her child so naturally, she would not gravitate towards him. She is the widow and she needs to be with her children.
