I dont believe that Nancy hated him. IN fact, when Nancy was at the coffin, not yesterday, but at the supposedly private ceremony on Tuesday, Micheal went up to her and kissed her. I do think it was really strange that Micheal was treated like a Stepford.

The 'Chief'
Do we have any idea of the tribe that outfit represents?
I'm ignorant in doing any such identification...but am curious as I grew up with a fair number of Native American classmates in Oklahoma.
I don't know. I wish there was some identification. [I have some Native American heritage.] I had just turned on my pc this morning and got the streaming windows going and just barely happened to cap that. It gave me a sense of historical pride and really touched me.
IIRC, that type of feather headdress is representative of some of the 'Plains Indians' such as Sauk & Fox, Cheyenne, Arapaho, Sioux, Blackfeet, Comanche, and Pawnee.

From what I have read, the President can authorize/honor anyone to have a state funeral -- meaning to lay in state in the Rotunda. If I am not mistaken there was a Supreme Court Justice that got one and someone else said that General MacArthur did, as well. Obviously, it goes without saying that the President is always accorded that privilege.
Now, I have a lot of fear with that if a Democrat is president when certain people pass into the great beyond. It could be a very scary thought to some of us.

It did look similar to the ones we'd see in newspaper photos when pow-wows were
held in the local area of my hometown.
Our locals were Poncas, Tonkawas, Otoe-Missouria, Kaws and other tribes that
I probably was never acquanited with, being a pale-face.

I remember Michael saying that one of his sister's final wishes was for him to get along with Nancy and he said he would for her. So I am not sure why it is that Michael always seems a bit removed from the family in these last few days or who may be responsible.

One baby kept saying "ah ah" over and over to hear himself with the echo.It was hilarious.
I like muting the sounds on the tv (talkingheads who cannot shut up), and turn on the 'natural' audio on CSPAN or CBSWebcam, and just hear the natural sounds.
Occasional voices. Some shuffling. Distinctive steps getting ready for Honor Guard changes. And the respectful silence and dozens are walking.
Tomorrow, I'll mute the networks and cable channels as listen to the natural proceedings via the Internet.

That's Reagan red. They used to use that phrase to describe the color of Nancy's dresses and suits.

Perhaps this is all over blown. I recall seeing two seats up front held for a while after Nancy, Patti and Ron arrived. Then people seated behind moved up to avoid leaving a conspicuous absence. My thought was Michael was held up in traffic and therefore stayed at the back after he arrived in order to not cause a disruption as people were shuffled around. At least that is my "glass half full" explanation to counteract the typical "half empty" spin.

I want to see us out of the UN and France out of NATO.I don't, for as long as the UN exists our status, as it stands today, in the UN is much too important to give up.
Now, if the UN faded away on it's own and it's power along with it, I wouldn't shed a tear of regret.

I tuned in at the moment McCain was greeting Rudy, acting like they were at a party. That's the first time I have seen such inappropriate behaviour in the days of watching mourners pass the casket.

That's possible. But it still seemed funny that he wasn't hardly ever with the family.
