When asked whether he would return Saddam's personal gun to the new President of Iraq, Bush told the story of seven Iraqi merchants whose right hands were cut off by order of Saddam because the value of Iraqi money had declined.

The seven merchants were flown to the U.S. to have prostheses made for their amputated limbs.

...and Saddam's weapon is now the property of the United States military.

Loved the Smackdown of David Gregory. I am thrilled he pointed out that it is not only erroneous to claim only we are in Iraq but insulting to our allies, particularly the British.

Thanks for the PING.

I'm cable-deprived (by choice). What's going on?

Put the ping list to use on that MSBNC poll
if you haven't done so already.

Got to see the tail end of the press conference, thanks to you.
He's his own brand of Maverick, and I love it.

Thanks for the ping! I missed all this! So happy as you all reported that Gregory got slapped - did he call him "Monsieur" Gregory again.

Thanks, Mo!

Wasn't he great?! I've read the posts and don't see a mention of his emphatic statement about the presence of Zarkowi and, therefore, Al Queda in Baghdad BEFORE our troops entered Iraq.

I'm just trying to determine a reason for his feistiness today and having conclusive proof of a Baghdad/Al Queda connection to 9/11 would provide that reason.
