You got the right thing baby, uh HUH!
That's what I think of right away. Somehow fitting that they would leave in the same week.
G-d bless America.
A snippet of a moment in time never to be seen again. You're going to make me cry.
"I can't stop loving you", and "You don't know me."
I never realized how much his music touched me. I'm near tears.
Sounds of a different time, lost, never to be recaptured.
Ray is the Man. He basically was his own genre of music.
Some of the very first songs I can remember was Ray Charles playing on the record player. My favorite album was the '65 live recording in LA, but some of his real early stuff was the best.
'You know the night time, ohhhh is the right time,
To be with the one you love.'
The first time I saw Ray Charles was at the Sam Houston Coliseum in Houston about 1964, or so. I think I was sixteen, or seventeen. All us cats, and kittys from the neighborhood attended (not that its such a big deal, but our peach fuzz crowd were about the only white people there). I must have seen him three, or so times in Houston after that.
Im not trying to split the few hairs on my head I have left, but since I do have a little history seeing this man, and if this issue has already been addressed, please forgive me, but Ray Charles was not a soul singer. He sang pure R&B.
Is there anybody out there who would try to tell me Im Busted is a soul song?

Sorry about the double post
A terrible loss of talent. He made real music, something I'm not hearing on this generation's radio stations. May his loved ones be comforted by our Heavenly Father.
I wish I could see that video, sadly, I've never seen him live in concert... God bless, Mr. Charles.
Sorry to hear about Ray Charles passing. The guy's music has brought a lot of enjoyment to me over the years.
Sometimes you don't appreciate them fully till their gone... R.I.P. Ray
I am surprised and saddened by Ray Charles' passing. He was a uniquely great talent who sang well in multiple genres of music. May he rest in peace and may God comfort his loved ones.
R.I.P., Mr. Charles. You will be missed.
I cruised over to DU to check things out this AM, and they are appalled to discover that the great Ray Charles sang at the GOP convention a while back. :) They were pretty upset about it. Hee hee. IMUS played it AM on his show, with clips of Reagan and the crowd singing along. It made me cry....
No question about his immense talent and inspirational music. It's unfortunate that the other part of his legacy borders on the sordid. He admitted to fathering 11 children by at least 7 different women. He openly conceded that prospective backup singers had to first visit his casting couch. The running joke was that in order to become a member of the Raylettes (his backup group), you first had to "let Ray". Despite his outstanding contributions to the entertainment world, it's sad that his personal life reflects the promiscuity and irresponsibility that is typical of much of our society today.
The Blues Brothers rock! Great photo cyborg!
Ray Charles is a great musician and an inspiration to all.
Requiescat In Pace Ray Charles. Hope you enjoy performing for the Lord.
They go nuts after this week
I waiting for next commentary really smack chat Ronnie show the viewers go after US media BIG TIME
Rack it
BTW I downloaded that song you realize that Ray Charles version of 30 minutes long
Too sad...Ray was one of those artists that one would assume would always be around. Timeless music from a talented legend.
RIP, Ray. Ronnie is waitng for you at the Pearly Gates.
