Jeff,
Given all that you wrote, what was that jury thinking?

My mother became ill last night and so we were not able to drive down to Simi Valley for the Reagan processional before his burial, as we had intended..this left me here in Boise today to here this and report/post it here on FR.

Isn't that terrible? People could not see it?? It stinks from here (LA) -- did he have a slime-ball lawyer or just dupes on the jury? Too bad he wasn't tried in a military court.

What happend to ignorance being no excuse? The "I had no idea" defense didn't help Martha Stewart.

I hope we keep track of this guy. What a farce that trial was. Shame on the judge.

Simple evidence that law enforcement does not equal national defense.

The charges on his clear immigration violations resulted in a hung jury and a mistrial was declared on those charges.

The jury apparently wasn't allowed to hear most of the evidence because the "judge" ruled it "too prejudicial against the defendant". Looks liek this dumbass judge was LOOKING for a reason to get this terrorist acquitted.

They didn't believe he was intentionally giving aid and support to terror groups or that he had intentionally misled or lied to federal authorities.
A lot of the 911 ties through his uncle were not able to be brought up at the trial because of the judge.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for your Mom, JH.
And FWIW, the picture of Nancy standing at the Capitol, so stoic and so strong, when you could feel she just wanted to sit down, as the casket was being carried up the steps was to me, the defining moment yesterday.
Al Hussayn, well, that's our justice system. If the prosecution couldn't prove their charges, well, that's the way it's supposed to work.

I fear for our security...the Judge wouldn't allow testimony tied to 911 because it was
too prejudicial against this guy...some people are still naive...and the defense lawyer was a good lawyer.
From all I heard...way too many things we were supposed to believe just happened. I am sorry, when I heard that the Uncle who had funded him was at the same hotel in DC as the terrorists who crashed the Pentagon...that was the straw that completely broke the camels back.
