N. Korea: Syrians Present At the Ryongchon Explosion Site (new details:bio/chem-tipped missiles)

Dead Syrians sent home about a week after the accident.

While the train explosion at Ryongchon station, N. Pyongan Province, N. Korea, on 22nd of last April, still generates many speculations on its possible causes, including a failed assassination of Kim Jong-il, a freak accident, a staged accident by N. Koreans, it is now confirmed that there were many Syrians among the casualties of the explosion.

According to a knowledgeable intelligence source on N. Korean matters, about a week after the accident, on May 1st, a plane transported back to Syria 10 dead bodies of Syrians killed at the Ryongchon explosion.

The source stated that the plane came to bring the relief supply from Syria and returned with the bodies. The bodies were claimed by Syrian Technical Research Center(Centre d'Etudes et de Recherche Scientific: CERS). CERS is known to be into the development of Syrian WMD's.

It went on to say that Syrians were wearing protective suits at the time of the accident and in the middle of transporting a large packaged equipments. At the explosion, a lot of N. Korean Scud-D missiles and (rocket) propellant went off.

Another N. Korean expert, who wants to remain anonymous, explained that Syrians were there because:

As more details like these on N. Korean trafficking of WMD's emerge, what this revelation will lead to is a matter of great interest because American government is expected to take extraordinary measures on N. Korea in a few months.

The Syrian connection to Ryongchon explosion was briefly reported by Sankei Shimbun of Japan on May 7th. It was never covered in (major) domestic media, though. Syria is designated along with N. Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism, and has been a trafficker of world's WMD's and terrorist equipments.

GPS systems on our east coast will not be working next week

I hadn't heard about this. Are they being deactivated, taken down for maintenance, sunspots,...?

...knowledgeable intelligence source on N. Korean matters

Yeah, whatever. Not a shred of evidence to back up any of this. Taken with a pinch of salt about the size of Alaska.

"... the CIA maybe had a hand in the explosion."

Same thoughts here after reading about the chem/bio warheads. Of course it still could be a providential accident too.

I doubt very serously that these missiles were actually going to a end-customer in Syria.... Syria doesn't have a need for items like this and would be wasting their money.

You make a lot of unspoken assumptions when you define what Syria "needs." I can think of a number of reasons why Bashar Assad "needs" weapons like this, up to and including it being a "dick thing."

But of course, the real reason Syria "needs" such weapons is, of course, Israel (as usual).

Was official warning to boaters not to rely on GPS or cell phones, should only rely on VHF, off the carolina and florida coast.

Kim was photographed meeting with the Japanese p.m. a few weeks after the train explosion, so he is alive and well, sadly.

If it were really going to happen, it would would be for the G-8 summit. However, GPS has far too many civil uses (e.g., cell phones, FAA applications, and the stock market all use GPS-derived time). They're not going to take it down.

There's a joint exercise with some Russians & their military equipment on our terra firma down in the North Carolina shoreline area...and we have 10 carriers now out at sea though the media is only reporting 7.
