Germany being dominant is fine....if you happen to be German. My point was if you happen to enjoy not being German, it's time to move to some where that doesn't border on Germany.Personally, I think it'd be an improvement for the frogs, but that's just me.I'm a Texan and an American and am strongly biased in that direction.

I know what you're saying. Like you, I am & have that American attitude, so very much despised by the rest of the world. My latest German line immigrated in the 1880's & married the line that goes back to the Mayflower. Still, because of where I live, my 3rd generation American grandmother spoke German as a child. I think when a lot of American's hear Germany, they mentally jump right away to the Nazis, but I don't.

Most of the "old" cultures of Europe are interrelated to each other, which is one of the reasons they spent so much of their history at war with each other. If Europe ever succeeds at becoming one union, under the stars, my bet is the Germans will become less German & the French will still be capable of being irritants to everyone. Ask Canada.

The h*ll with the G8.

This is strategically important and we should fund it ourselves.

"So, what they're actually saying is that there will be terrorism until Israel is wiped off the map."

Yes of course. There has been terrorism since Israels founding and will continue as long as Israel exists. The reason is Israel doesn't know how to deal with terrorism. If the US were located where Israel is now there wouldn't be any such thing as Palestinians. They would have been deported or killed. The rest of the world would have condemned us but that has never stopped the US before. It does stop the Israeli's. That and the fact that so many of them are bleeding hearts who old rather die than protect themselves. Being week and ineffectual encourages terrorism. That is what Israel is.

If you want to see why things are the way they are now in the Middle East, read From Time Immemorial by Joan Peters and learn how Arabophile Brits let terrorists have free reign out of not wanting to offend the Saudis.
