Yeah, I think you're right.
This is utterly transparent.
Only imbeciles won't see it.

Sen. John Kerry said Tuesday that the Reagan administration would be "happier to wait until many Vietnam veterans die . . . I'm not surprised he said that

NBC reporter said Kerry tried calling Nancy....but couldn't reach her yesterday......why do I have a feeling this wasn't cleared with the family.I am not sure if Kerry called Nancy on the day of Reagan's passing. But here, we learn that Kerry calls Nancy yesterday. For what? To send belated condolences? Or to seek Nancy's blessing for his campaign appearance at the side of her husband's casket?

I cannot believe this ... my son & I waited 6 hours in line & I didn't get home until 4:30 this AM.
This was a line of honor. Those of us who waited discussed what a PRIVILEGE it was to wait in line to pay our respects. Those who even questioned if they could cut in line or the few who, at one point when the line started building later last night, faked injuries to go through the handicapped entrance, were HELD IN DISDAIN by the crowd.
Even Tom Selleck waited in line like the rest of us including others who are now waiting who will inevitably miss their opportunity because this guy cut in line ... even if it took a minute, or two or three, somebody, two, three, likely multiples of 50-100-150 (busloads reviewing 5 minutes at a time) will be gypped out of their opportunity because Hanoi John French Kerry had to disgrace himself with this photo op.
Here is a question some in the line pondered:
WHO ELSE IN THE WORLD WOULD PEOPLE WAIT IN LINE LIKE THIS FOR?
Certainly not Hanoi John French Kerry - how disdainful!

"Do you think the public at large will see this for the CHEAP photo op it is?...."
Yes, if presented in the context of how it was done. Unfortunately the only thing the average Joe Public will see is a solemn Kerry grieving for a former President.
We know that, and he knows that; that's why he did it.

It could have been worse. I haven't seen any reports of him spitting during the appearance. He apparently has more self-control than I thought. Can't spit when you bite your lip.

He dated Dana Delany (the actress) He dated her?
I believe she's another heiress, you know.
If my memory is correct, her grandfather invented the Delany toilet flush valve.
Leaving the office now, but thought I'd thought I'd throw in that interesting tidbit.
