And nobody loves us.
Time to toughen up, because sometime down the road they will be coming after us. Red Dawn, baby.
It's a world-wide problem. American children are indoctrinated with anti-Americanism too.
Sounds like super-patriotic right wing jingoism to me.
What those Canadians need is a little PC insight into the fact that "the other" is always superior to oneself.
Thanks. I snatched this from google images. Just check under canuckistani flag. Hard to believe I am half Canuckistani and managed to stay away from the dark side of liberal/socialism. My Canadian Mom married my US Air Force Dad and became an American citizen. If my Canadian grandfather, God rest his soul, could see what Canada has become it would kill him all over again. He loved the Mighty Gipper!
*having dropped the southpark dime, exit our hero, stage right!*
interesting username... any connection to the alternate history stories by Steve Sterling?
ROFL--that is clever, and appropriate.
Do you really see that happening? You're more optimistic than I am.
all I have to say is
Go TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING
hehehehe lmao
OH GROAN!! I don't recall EVER been taught such stuff nor do I ever recall My children being taught this. My children are 30 and 33. They are VERY Pro-American. This Makes me SICK!! Nevermind, we are doing everything possible this time to OUST the Liberals and they are going crazy. The Canadian Conservatives led by Stephen Harper are only ONE point down in the polls in ONTARIO. Also, Quebec appears to be going almost completely BQ!! Liberals can usually count on at least 70 of 75 Quebec seats. They will get NOTHING from the West and ONTARIO could cause a complete upset. Stephen Harper will change a lot of things. Especially our Political relationship with the USA.
"Anti-Americanism Spoonfed to Canadian Grade School Kids"
I'm surprised this makes news. American schools do an even better job of it!!!
If Canadian students had a better understanding of America, why would they stay in Canada?LOL!
You'd better believe it, Citizen. A few Freepers have caught the reference, here and there.
"Marching Through Georgia" got me hooked, then "Under The Yoke", "The Stone Dogs", and "Drakon". I heard about the possiblity of a new one, tentatively called "Unto Us A Child", but I haven't heard anything in a while.
If you liked those books, check out "Conquistador" by Sterling. Good stuff, gets right into the action.
The reason I chose the username was that I kind of identify with the Draka mindset, with the exception of all the slavin'. They take care of their own, they love their children, and God help anyone who gets the idea of messing with them.
They were also hated by every country on Earth, which I can see happening now to us Yanks. "We are a few people, and nobody loves us."
Service and Glory!
my only exposure to that universe was a one-off short story by David Drake.
That was but a few days ago.
If Drake found it a universe worthy of his efforts, it must be worthy of my attention.
I like David Drake's stuff, too. I've got a few of his in hardcover.
But good luck finding a new copy of the Draka series, though. I believe Marching Through Georgia and Under The Yoke are out of print. I found 'em at the used book store down the road. Might try Amazon, though.
there are ways and means... one of which is the patience to wait for the next reprint cycle :)
I'm not particularly optimistic - just convinced that socialism doesn't work, no matter what name it travels under.
'It's official policy!'
It is? Oh wait, it's quidnunc, nevermind.
